Falling in love with stew chicken. We had lunch here, the very best home cooking. Sides were deliciously prepared including sweet potatoes, stewed vegetables and rice with peas. A nice peaceful spot off the beaten path but still in downtown Cruz bay offering authentic and fresh Caribbean food. If you want authentic Caribbean food while on St.John come to Hillside Terrace. The service here was amazing and the food and vibes were also great. I highly recommend the stew chicken! This was by far the best food on the island and we went to a few of the fine dining options. We went twice and took a side home to eat later in the day. All the food was so fresh, seasoned perfectly, and delicious. The staff is so nice and everything was very clean. Food tasted great but owner didn’t give us the full meal - we got 2 sides instead of 3 as advertised. When asked, the owner just said she ran out and didn’t offer any alternatives. We left unsatisfied. Service Dine in Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5

Ordered the ox tail with rice and potato salad and a locally made tamarind drink. This was the best food I had here while staying in St Johns. Ox tail was fall of the bone with an amazing flavor.
