Food was sooo good. I got a little bit of everything. Goat, fish, beef, jollof rice. Definitely spicy and amazing. I didn't know the names of the dishes but the gentleman sharing the food was patient and explained everything. It’s a must try if you want to try delicious African food. So I’m not African but I like egusi. So I tried ordering from the newly opened restaurant. Nasty. Bowl of seeds. No prices on the nicely printed post card menu. I ordered a Small lil bowl of jolloff rice. Egusi. 24.00. Ok fine. I give it a second try a week later. Still no prices. Bowl of seeds scoop of spinach and palm oil. Even smaller portion. Same 20 bucks minus the jolloff. But …..I see the Africans order. Big huge plates. Plenty food. 45 bucks in 2 weeks barely an adult portion of food. Am I ordering wrong?? I’m just not African. They trying to pull it with the no prices and small little stingy stankin portions. I guess he charge as he see fit. Typing in the total so quickly. No eye contact. Annoyed with my non African face. The owner said prices will come in a week. I bet that’s a balled face major lie. Why so difficult to price and pre portion the food for understanding. Scamming. That’s why. All these typed up angry messages about refunds or exchanges all over the register. But no prices. I’m coo. Keep y’all lil stankin over priced organ meat. Never 👎🏽 again. Shame on y’all. Scamming non African people. Scamming Homewood. Loud as tv. Non pleasant staff. You notice a non African and ignore them. Non welcoming. Ugh. Y’all know YouTube put egusi viral so you scamming people. Nasty. Terrible. Scammers.

I called in for a order of the goat pepper soup way ahead of time and I think it wasn't prepared until I got there because they asked me when I would be there and not given a time to pick up. The flavor was just exactly what I was seeking for the night however there was little to no goat MEAT in the dish. Mainly goat? Skin, organs, and chewy gristle! I was hesitant when he told me 19$ over the phone and asked if the portion was of good size and if there would be meat. The man says it's decent so I gave it a try. While there I noticed signs that said no refund or exchanges which let's me know they can give out mediocre food or not what you order and can not return it. Yikes! I was so upset because African restaurants are hard to find and when you do they get over and laugh about it smh. I would suggest SESI AFRICAN GROCERY for actually decent price and food. The price I paid here19$ I could have paid there for two soups there 7$(no lie) unless it's changed and get some actual MEAT. SESI was closed so I will wait for them to open Tuesday 😋 anything I feel cheated so won't go there again. I would post pics if I knew how smh. I was excited to try this place! I had an expectation that was not met. The taste of the food was on point, but when ordering the protein I was give a 1 inch by 2 inch piece of whiting for $7. I of course didn’t know this upon ordering. I thought I would receive an adult portion size of protein. If you are looking to taste, come here. Looking for a meal, ask questions before you pay!
