My wife had heard great things about this place. So, for her birthday we went for dinner. Reservations at 5pm. When we showed up there was only one other couple there. They brought us "bread". The bread was basically VERY hard cracker type pieces that were incredibly tasteless. But hey. Let's move on. We ordered dinner. Yes it was good but again. No bread other than the rock crackers. No bread where Italian food is served? Then after dinner was what my wife was waiting for. Dessert. She asked for one dish. They were out. Another. They were out. Basically they had NOTHING available. Bear in mind. We got there at FIVE. In summary, the waiter was great. The food (other than the rock crackers) was good. But for what it cost to eat there it's gonna take more than crackers and dessert for us to go back. I've been to many high end restaurants. This one doesn't meet the standard by any means. The best part of the night were the drinks. And they came from someone else? Sorry LaScala. Very disappointed. NOTE: Looking through some of the pictures I saw several with actual bread in the cone cups. We did not receive that. We were literally given flat hard wafer type crackers. Weird. We loved this restaurant when it first opened. Sadly it has gone straight downhill with the new owners. All three entrées my family had were terrible. We had been wanting to try La Scala for a while now. We had dinner last night and were a little disappointed. Appetizer was the wrong one. They took it back and brought out the right one. Cold and not fully baked. Two of the three Cesar Salads did not have cheese or salad dressing. Michael was very kind but he was the only one waiting tables. La Scala is an excellent place, elegant and charming, the atmosphere is inviting and cozy. The pasta is hand made, and the service is amazing! You definitely have to try! Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
