Visited this restaurant with a lot of expectations. Impressed is a very far off word, we haven’t even enjoyed food at the basic level. Specially the non-veg part. The kebab was super bland, undercooked and raw. The meat in Goat Biryani was undercooked aswell. The Chicken curry wasn’t tasty. The only dish that fine tasted was the Paneer. The service was fine. The lady is a good conversationalist but we felt she wasn’t really open to hear our review.

This was quite the enjoyable takeout experience! SUPER friendly staff, reasonably priced, in & out, and most importantly…great food. Ordered the chicken tikka masala(medium), and garlic & regular naan. I like a touch of hot and the medium was perfect. Maybe I’ll try the mild next time just for a full scope, but by no means was medium too hot. Naan was great. And the lady on the phone/in store just seemed very sweet. Highly recommend Lazzat. Wanted to try a local Indian place and this place came up in my search. I got the butter chicken with basmati rice and paratha. I am so happy I gave this restaurant a go! Food was excellent! Butter chicken was so flavorful. I was nervous it would be too spicy for me bc I don’t like too too spicy but this was just the right amount of kick for me. I can’t wait to order from them again! The rice and paratha were delicious too! Thank you so much!!

Best Indian food I’ve ever had. Every dish I had was incredible. Family owned restaurant and food is cooked by Mon and daughter. Very authentic. And they are very nice people as well. Highly recommend .

Spicy Chicken Vindaloo Dish Special
So Lazzat is a small restaurant in a strip mall in Matawan, but what they lack in size, they make up in flavor. This food was phenomenal. The Naan was perfect. We ordered Gobi Manchurian as an appetizer- tender cauliflower, lightly battered and served in a tangy chili sauce. Wow. So good. I was really happy with my Lamb Vindaloo, which was spicy as I like it, and the side of Raita that I ordered to moderate the spice was filled with chunks of vegetables. Really, really good. About $100 for four people, so the price was right, too. Servíce was good.. We had to ask for small plates for the appetizer, and our sodas were delivered in cans with no glass. No worries, the place is relatively new, they were very friendly, and I'm sure they are working on it. Otherwise, highly recommended.

First time here and everything was so good. Solid Indian food, clean and such nice staff. They helped explain the food spice levels and sauces. We had chicken tikka masala, spicy chicken vindaloo, garlic naan and vegetable samosas. The food was fresh and the spices and herbs were great!

Happened to find this place through a google search and I’m so glad we came. The food came out fast and it’s AMAZING!!! Super flavorful, fresh, quality ingredients. Felt like truly authentic homemade food. I think they might have a buffet in the near future which is something we don’t have in this area. The owner is kind and friendly and that’s a huge plus. Place is very clean. Garlic naan to die for. I will be coming back! Highly recommend.
Everything was on point, delicious. The mango Lassi yogurt drink is delicious as well. Love that you can pick your spice level.

Chicken Biryani
We headed to Lazzat for a sit down date night dinner after work on a Wednesday. We were greeted by the lovely owner Chetna who let us sit wherever we wanted! She recommended that we order the Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken so we took her recommendations and added Garlic Naan and Masala Chai. The food came out very quickly, it was hot, DELICIOUS and presented in beautiful bowls with large serving spoons. The flavors of the tikka masala were out of this world amazing and the tenderness of the butter chicken literally melted in our mouths. The masala chai was hot and comforting. All ingredients were so fresh which made for delicious and authentic flavors. Chetna let us know her mother is the head chef, so she came out to say hello to us too, what a sweet and kind woman! We finished off our entrees with 2 traditional desserts, the most popular honey ball called “Gulab Jamun” and another traditional favorite called “Ras Malai” both were great but the honey ball was our favorite of the two. We will most definitely be coming back for good food but more importantly quality service from a kind and hospitable family!
