Come here for some rest after a long walk around Murphy-Smith Historical Bungalow. Most guests recommend trying perfectly cooked oc, pasta and chao. This bar will offer you good bourbon, draft beer or liqueur. Come here and order delicious coffee. You can listen to live music in the evening. Most visitors mention that the staff is cute. We originally made dinner reservations at sunset but our table was back from the windows that overlooked the beach, so we canceled and got a table in the lounge that was right next to the window. We were shameless tourists taking lots of pictures of the beautiful sunset off La Jolla Shores. The cocktails are a little expensive but were excellent. Much attention to detail. It's the first time I've seen a dirty martini made with dirty ice, and they leave the shaker at the table. We ordered several small plates and they were delicious. We really liked the grilled octopus and also the chicken liver pate. Lily, our server, was excellent and very personable. I highly recommend the experience, especially if you can time the sunset. This is my kind of bar. Cool dark wood style place with a fireplace and chairs to sit and converse while the band plays in the back with great vibes. Not too big but chill. A nice mixed crowd that seemed very friendly. Also had a great selection of whiskey to choose from. Had couple of old fashions which were perfecly made.
