The service is unexpectedly terrible. We had to go and beg and remind the staff that we ordered food and they didn’t bring it. We had to wait for them to clean the table for 20 minutes, they brought only salads after 30 minutes and we had to beg them to bring drinks. The waiters had a blank expression and did not bother to remember or even write down the order. They we’re clearly more interested in drinking around the bar and walking around aimlessly. We went today at this place. We noticed that the music was so loud since we were still outside and we decided to enter and to ask the stuff if they can drop the volume a bit down so we can understand each other. So we did it and the stuff dropped it for a two seconds so they can understand each other looked at us and raised the volume again. The waiter came to us and said that they cannot do it and we decided to leave the place so we found a other place 20 meters further away. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

The service was decent, the food was good at least the food we ate giving it 4 stars cos shopska had alot of onion. + Reasonably priced - dogs annoy you alot Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3

Amazing, local restaurant!! We dined there twice whilst in the national park because we enjoyed it so much. The view is simply stunning! Our standout dishes were the grilled zucchini, chicken kebab and shopska salad. Highly recommended. We just wish we lived nearer!!! Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant in Mavrovo, from the location to staff, to the food! Definitely don't miss dining at Mavroski Merak during your stay in Mavrovo, also a hotspot for locals and visitors, always busy. Located on the lake with magical views of the mountains, homes, and churches. Felt like little Switzerland. Bojan and the team were an absolute delight, very friendly, generous, and kind. The food was another level, just mouthwatering, and we worked out way through the menu. Meat dishes were of the highest quality, we loved the pork ribs and the grilled zucchini was divine! Don't forget to try the meat pie with sour cream, an excellent traditional dish. A great selection of local wines for all palates and priced well.

As a Brazilian who loves meat and dairy I must say I am impressed with the local dishes quality. I could eat here everyday, now I understand the locals preferences.... the view is outstanding!! check pics of calb, cheese and pork
