Back in 2012-2018, I used to love coming to Olympians for lunch. The gyro platter was my favorite. Even then, the price was a bit on the high side, but the food was delicious, so I’d call it a treat and give in. But today, I literally had to turn around and walk out the store and I’m so sad because I was looking forward to having a gyro. I hadn’t had one from Olympians in a couple years so I was looking forward to it…So I went in and ordered a gyro (just a gyro: no fries, chips, drink, etc); she said $14 and change and just kinda held out her hand like: pay now…I said what? $15 for just a gyro? She said, “yes”…I thanked her and walk right back out.
I’m sorry, but even if I was rich (which I’m sooo NOT!😂🤷🏾♀️🤣), I’ll never be down for overspending…and to charge $15 for a gyro is price gouging in my opinion. A lot of business have been taking advantage of us consumers since the pandemic hit back in 2020 and I’ve been staying away from those places.
So the bottom line: Olympians has good food, for sure; but I can’t support them anymore because their super high prices has forced me to remove them from my “eat out” rotation. My Husband and I walked a few feet across the parking lot to Mission BBQ and got two pulled chicken sandwiches that are just as delicious for $18.
I've been here a couple times both for breakfast and dinner. It's a great laid back spot. Their portions seemed pretty generous the times that I've been. I'll definitely be back!
