I am a born Trinidadian, here in the US on an exchange program. I have been STRUGGLING to find tasty, authentic food here. Then after a grueling month, I found Pepper Pot.
Firstly, when you walked into the restaurant, YOU SMELL THE FOOD IMMEDIATELY! That is a big deal because it says that they are cooking food on spot, versus cooking earlier and leaving it out.
I had the oxtail, rice and plantain. Oxtail was falling off the bone, properly seasoned, and browned to perfection. The white rice was cooked well, not soggy at all. The plantains were a bit half ripe and I prefer ripe plantain but I ended up going back to order another portion because it was still good.
The service was IMPECCABLE!! The lady almost brought a tear to my eye because besides the food, I got a taste of our warm Caribbean love and charisma.
I thank the owners of Pepper Pot so much and would ALWAYS recommend!

Oxtail Platter
Tryed this place with my husband for the first time and in a nutshell shell wasn’t bad but definitely can be improved. The food did not taste bad, but I didn’t get the authenticity that I was looking for. The service was A1. The lady who served us was very polite and kind. She informed and greeted us when we said it was our first time here and showed us to the menu. The food was a bit pricey but we paid for it because it’s been years since I had Jamaican food. The atmosphere was better then many in Harrisburg but you always want to keep all the tables clean just in case you have eat in guest, which the one table was not. The facilities were very clean and smelled nice. There was some nice music playing and I felt very comfortable. Overall it was a nice experience, but was not happy about the portions of what you get compared to the prices. All together we spent $57 dollars for two platters, two beef patties, a small container of white rice and plantains and a couple of drinks. (We had gotten a third bottle of water for 50 cents off the original price which was nice). Not sure if we will be back but it was a nice experience nevertheless. Thanks for the hospitality!

Jerk Chicken Platter
Pepper Pot's food reminds me of home. Being from NY, I truly miss Jamaican Food. This restaurant didn't disappoint. The ox 🐂 tails, stew, and jerk chicken were out of this world 🌎. I am definitely returning when I'm in Harrisburg.
The atmosphere was casual. The service was on point. I'm happy I took that 1.5 hour drive. 😋

Jerk Chicken Platter
Noticed this place when I was headed to another store decided to try. Very disappointed in the taste and portions. My first time going and because I wasn't sure, I got 2 meats and rice and beans. The meat portions were so small but for the same price as the platters. I got oxtail that were too much salt and pepper and very greasy. The rice and beans were dry and hard. The curried goat was okay. I wasn't impressed with it and will stick to Got Jerk for my Jamaican food. The photo is of the containers the food came in. 10$ for the goat, $15 for oxtail and 5$ for the rice and they all came in these containers. Yes I still ate it because I spent 32$ on this and didn't want to waste my money even more.

I had the jerked chicken and it was really good. The chef came out and said hello and I could tell he knew what he was doing. Had some sorrel and it was really good too. Stop at the Pepper pot if you are looking for a good Jamaican meal.

I have been all over the east coast and I always am looking for a fresh plate of ox tail & peas and rice. This place went above and beyond to make sure I had more than enough food and the quality exceeded my expectations. BEST OX TAIL IN THE STATE!!!

My brother and I came here for lunch yesterday and the second you open the doors your nose is filled with all the amazing smells of their delicious food.
The lady behind the counter was incredibly sweet and excited to show my bro and I all of their offerings. She hooked us up and we enjoyed everything so much! We will be back and recommend to anyone who loves Jamaican food or wants to try it out!!

I ordered for the first time today via Door Dash and it was so delicious. The sweetness of the cabbage cooked to perfection and the curry chicken and potatoes delicious. I will definitely be ordering again!!!
Definitely a must go! Service was very hospitable and helpful. Food was quality and absolutely delicious and comforting. We tried the jerk chicken platter and ox tail. Oxtail was very tender falling off the bone, jerk chicken was perfectly spicy and crispy skin. The plantains were to die for and the side cabbage was perfectly cooked! We also tried their sorrel and ginger drink. Sadly they do not serve the guava but the sorrel and ginger was very refreshing and not too sweet. They even helped me make sure I knew what went with what when packing my order.

This place is great. Very friendly and hospitable. Food is amazing. Today is 10/13. Yesterday I got the curry goat and I woke up the next day already planning out my lunch for the day. Got the oxtail platter and a beef patty today. Might go tomorrow. Support this local business. You won’t be disappointed
