Easily the most inconsistent and disappointing place on the Hill. The ONLY thing it has going for it is the “pops sauce”, even though they drown your food in it.. This place has changed managers and staff so many times I can’t even count. It’s like a club when you enter, you can’t even hear yourself think. I got a side of Mac n cheese once and it had maybe 8 noodles in it, then the rest was this nasty cheese sauce. I ordered the wrap and there was just a stick of cheese in it, not melted at all, then when I asked, the manager said that’s just how it is. 3 times now I’ve gotten undercooked chicken. I hate that it’s come to this because I fell in love with this place 2 years ago but every single time I’ve gone back it’s gotten worse and worse, and I’ve come here easily 20-30 times hoping I could get that chicken sandwich I once deemed “the best I’ve ever had”. Not to mention the fact that they’re never open when they say they are. You basically have to get lucky when driving by. I’m convinced the only reason it’s still in business is drunk college kids who are just grateful to have something to soak up the alcohol. The owners have no clue how to be consistent or keep their employees and it’s very sad.. it could be an amazing spot if they actually tried. Would not recommend to anyone at this point, even though it was once my favorite spot ever. I only write this because I’ve never seen a restaurant change so much in such a bad way, I used to swear by the chicken sandwich and now I want nothing to do with it.. Good tender chicken, tasty fries and toast, plus the bbq sauce is great. My only complaint is what’s up with the coleslaw portion? That’s approximately two spoonfuls with the entire meal, I was given more bbq sauce than slaw… not even exaggerating. Maybe they ran out of what they typically put it in?? I first visited Chicken on the Hill at the previous location in September of 2020. With the construction on the hill, I thought the restaurant was gone. While visiting a neighboring restaurant, I noticed the sign for Chicken on the Hill on a different building. I knew I had to have it again after all these years! I rounded up 2 coworkers who had never tried it and we all got in my car Sunday to have some chicken. We arrived but the business was locked, with no explanation as to why, even though the hours on the internet said they’d be open. I was in Boulder again on Wednesday but the restaurant’s hours say it is closed Wednesday. I tried calling multiple times today, Thursday, and got no answer. I really hope this awesome chicken spot is not out of business 😢 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Just moved to Denver and found this to easily be the best hot chicken around. Checked the website and Google to make sure they are open on Sundays and drove there just to get some nashville hot tenders. We park and they are closed with no notice on why, really awful way to start the day. Hopefully it wasn't due to anything serious 😕 Food: 5
