If you remember local favorites like Skips, then you will enjoy this place. Good food, good portions, and some staple traditional menu items. Their French onion soup and lettuce wedge salad are especially good. They are however tremendously busy and noisy. Even if you call in advance, they don't do reservations. And I have twice walked out after having called in and being told there is no wait... just to arrive and be told it would be a half hour to be seated. My wife and I went out to eat with another couple. I got the Princeton burger it was very good. My wife got the baked seafood platter, she said it was ok the mashed potatoes were cold. One of our friends got the chicken Parm, huge portion and she said it was very good. Our other friend go the Prime Rib and he didn't like it and they took it off the bill which we thought was a great gesture. For desert my wife got the bread pudding and she loved it. Our friends each got a cheesecake and the apple crisp and they loved it. We also go three apps, the pretzel's very good, buffalo tenders very good and the spinach artichoke dip which was very garlicky. Overall a good experience and would try again. Had my wife's 60th Birthday party there. Great food and service. Staff helped us run the party with their experience. Everyone of our guests was extremely happy. +25 people. Thank you.. Friday night with reservations for 8 at 6:30. Still had to wait 15 minutes for clearing of our table. 15 minutes to take orders. 1 hour to get food as we were informed that the kitchen was "overwhelmed". Waiter was amazing.. We ordered 2 cosmos and they didn't taste right.. He immediately asked if we wanted something else, we ordered lemon drops.. the were very good. Everything else was perfect.. I was a guest at a birthday celebration. Totally blown away by the quality and variety of the meals. Every plate that came out was perfect. Absolutely delicious. This is the best restaurant I have been to in many years. My compliments to the chef and kitchen staff. I only wish that I lived closer than 70 miles. I would like to try everything on the menu. I enjoy a classic New England eatery. This is definitely one of those. We ended up going to the bar entrance, which was not great since we had to walk through the cloud of smokers standing by the entrance on the way in and out. We sat on the bar side of the restaurant. The service was nice, but the food took over an hour. I assume they are having trouble finding staff as is every establishment. The clam chowder came out just about room temperature and was forgettable. The Prime Rib was great. Most other dishes and sides were overly salty. I'd go back again for the prime rib. I feel like between the excellent food quality, atmosphere (they played a quiz anyone could participate - and i got all into it) as well as a multiple options (from bar, just food indoors or outdoors). In my 10 years of being in a big family we ALWAYS have issues with our meals because there is 13+ of us! It's sometimes expected. Today I was completely impressed with the service from here. Our server Tiffeny was beyond amazing!!! Didn't miss a beat and was so polite! Thank you for the wonderful dining experience! We will be back for sure! && of course the food was delicious!
