We ate at red horse tavern for a birthday celebration. We arrived slightly earlier and was seated immediately. Overall it was delicious. Intimate setting, excellent service and great food options. Saturday night, pretty noisy in this small restaurant. Parking lot was full. We were seated quickly. Great sangria on special. Ordered a burger, shepherd's pie, and brisket grilled cheese. This was our first visit. Not a huge menu, but we both found something that appealed to us and we both enjoyed our meal. The dining room area is rather small. We didn't have reservations but were fortunate enough to be seated right away; although you may want to make a reservation to secure a spot. I tried the old fashioned burger and my husband tried the brisket grilled cheese. Both were good. Service was good. We did not check out the bar area (located in a separate room from the dining room). The parking lot was in good condition and easily accessed. It's not huge, but seems adequate for the occupancy size. We will go back again in the future. Excellent food, great to have innovative and interesting menu items. The eggplant bruchetta shrimp mac and cheese, tavern stew, were all wonderful. The food here is excellent! I had a reuben with french fries, my wife got the brisket grilled cheese with house made potato chips, and we got the fried green tomatoes appetizer. I would definitely recommend all three dishes. The beer and cocktail selection is good too. They have a decent variety of seasonal drinks as well as standard drinks. Our family went to the Red Horse Tavern for brunch on Sunday after Church. We had heard good things about the place when it was owned by the previous owners, but hadn't had a chance to check it out until recently, and we understand the restaurant is under new ownership. We had a very good experience. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown (pictured), which was sliced turkey breast over toast points, topped with mornay sauce, smoked cheddar, local bacon, fresh tomato, baked until bubbly. It was DELICIOUS! My wife had the Brunch Burger which she thoroughly enjoyed, and it was chicken fingers and fries for the kiddo. Everything was really good, and the service was great as well. We felt it was very reasonably priced as well, in comparison with some of the other options in and around the area. We will definitely be coming back to try some of the other highlighted menu items, including the charcuterie board, the burgers, and salads. Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person $10–20

Wowzers! I am so satisfied after my lunch at the newly re-opened Red Horse Tavern. Everything, from the mocktails to dessert, was absolutely delicious. We tried the Pineapple Mule and Blackberry Lime fizz from the mocktail list. Both were so refreshing. Can’t wait til they get their liquor license settled and can serve alcohol—I’m sure the cocktails will be equally delightful! In all honesty, I wanted to try one of everything on the menu! Some of the highlights from our lunch: Tavern Street Corn (so fresh), Watermelon Arugula Salad (with burrata cheese and pickled watermelon rind—yum!), the Honey Haute Chicken Sandwich (with the fried chicken option) and (oh my stars!) the Banoffee Pie. Everything was outstanding with lots of flavor and unique twists that makes me excited to come back and try more menu items. Service was very personable and the dining room updates add nice color and personality to the space. Wishing the new owners lots of success. They’ll certainly be seeing me again soon.
