We made it a summer adventure to try most of the ice cream shops in our area and Red Rover was next on the list. They had a short list of housemade flavors. Mint oreo was swell, and POG or passion fruit orange guava was quirky. A fun stop on our walk to the jazz band at Prescott Park.

Of the hundreds of ice cream/gelato/soft-serve establishments I have been to, this is in my top 10 and my 2nd favorite in the US. I went here 2 years ago and still remembered the name of the shop so yes, it left an impression. I gather from the more recent reviews that it's still top notch.

THIS IS THE BEST ICE CREAM IN THE WORLD!!! I’m from NYC, but sometimes I think maybe I should just drive 6 hours for this ice cream. The only downside to getting ice cream here is that ice cream from anywhere else is disappointing in comparison now. We ❤️ Red Rover and can’t wait for our visit this year.

Delicious, fresh ice cream. I wish I could come back every week and try the new flavor. The espresso and chocolate were great. The brown sugar nectarine tasted just like you would expect: tart juicy nectarines infused with warm brown sugar crumbles. I looovee the mini ice cream cones on the dish, its just the right size without getting a big cone. Every ice cream place should do this!

In Portsmouth for a leisurely afternoon with a friend and our dog and needed a little refreshing pick me up. Raving reviews led us here and we weren’t disappointed. We shared a ginger snap ice cream sandwich with raspberry homemade ice cream. Perfectly balanced flavors and not too sweet. It was a great size to share and it would have been easier to share if we could have cut it in half. 😔

I am so glad I broke my ice cream fast (10 days!) with this ice cream. Incredibly delicious. I absolutely loved the plum one. My family loved their vanilla and strawberry. Fantastic!

Easily the best Ice Cream in Portsmouth. The perfect stop before a walk through Strawberry Banke or around the parks and waterside. The menu rotates often (about once a week) and you can't go wrong with any pick.

Rain or shine this place is special. We had the plum and apricot flavors and the care to texture, taste, and detail was obvious from the get go. The flavors take no prisoners, and as I type this I'm going back for a cookie. Don't miss out!

Amazingly good! The strawberry ice cream ginger snap cookie sandwich combined perfectly, and just the ice cream itself was one of the best strawberry ones I’ve ever had.
