I’m visiting Cambria for the film fest and wanted to stop by robins for a meal. Dinner was crazy! Robert was my server and he provided really excellent timely service. I got the Meze plate to start which was awesome. I want to know what the chef pickled the veggies in. I have never willingly devoured cauliflower and broccolini but it was so good with the lemon garlic hummus and naan. I don’t know what muhamarra is but it was sweet and very good with the acidic veggies and smooth hummus. For my entree I got the braised short rib tacos which is a Thursday special. I just had one of the tacos for breakfast. It’s so tender it’s like if you braised a short rib for 48 hours. Then sadly, I had to go. But I took with me the trio dessert plate. Sorbet was super bright and fresh. The crème brûlée (which I’ve been craving for forever) kind of hits you with this bold vanilla flavor and was, also in fact, really good. How many times have I said really good? Anyways when I visit Cambria again, whenever that may be, I’ll be back. Probably when you least expect it. Robin's was highly recommended by a Cambria resident that I've known for several decades. Bottom line? Robin's did not disappoint. The location, ambience, welcome, tone were impeccable. And our server Robert was the absolute best of the best. His demeanor, charm, passion, product knowledge, interaction(s) were something to surely take note of because he defines what restaurateurs strive for as team-members and what most dining guests only get to see in the movies. My party had an outstanding time and it is the absolute majority vote that the food was superbly divine. Such a cute place! Don't skip the outdoor patio- they have heaters that work really well (we had to tell them to turn the one above us off). The food was great but some of the portions were small. 2 egg rolls for $11 😱 I mean they cut 2 in half and present it as 4, but it's 2 pieces. Thankfully, they were delicious along with their salads. Overall good place for a cute brunch or to catch up with a friend. Quaint little town with blocks of shops, cafes, and restaurants. Lots of free parking, Robins has charm but the food is average and the menu is confused with a bit of Italian, Asian, and American. The furnishing could use an upgrade. I had the curry chicken which was okay, the basmati rice was very dry and lacked flavor. Also had the spring rolls, greasy and not good tasting. I adore this place. Super cozy but spacious. Our waitress Megan was as sweet as she could be. Will definitely come back next time we're in the area.
