Would give this restaurant 6 stars if it were an option. The food, the cocktails and the atmosphere are unbeatable. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she was a delight! What a wonderful find root & vine is! My husband and I had dinner here last night and from start to finish everything from the Bloody Marys and wine to the last bite of our meal was spectacular! Rarely do we both have a meal where every bite causes such pleasure! I started with the grilled romaine Caesar -- amazing! The Caesar dressing combined with the slight smokiness from the char on the romaine was delightful. The best Caesar I've ever had! My husband had the wedge and he said it was delicious, right down to the blue cheese dressing (and he never says blue cheese dressing is delicious!). For our main course, my husband had the Rossa pizza which he said was one of the best pizzas he's ever had. I had the pork chop served on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes and nestled beside the best collard greens I've ever eaten -- seriously, I could devoured the pot full of them! The pork chop was tender and moist and the Cheerwine BBQ sauce was the perfect touch. Best meal I've had in a very long time! Our server, Zack, was great -- warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. The timing of every aspect of the meal was perfect. We're still talking about it today. Well done, root & vine!!
