Let me tell you something about Sal's. We called the restaurant not only did they know my mom's name because of her phone number but they knew the dressing she wanted on her salad. This is what I call service. Every restaurant should take care of customers like this. If you don't go here you're doing yourself a disservice. The "Works" Pizza was a masterclass in topping harmony. The Mozzarella Caprese was presented beautifully. But the real showstoppers were the desserts - the cannoli's crispy shell and creamy filling stole the show, while the New York Cheesecake was silky perfection. Highly recommended? An understatement! Buckle up, because this review might sound strange. At first, I thought my visit was bad and was ready to give a 1-star rating due to some issues. However, after I talked to the manager, I realized I was the one who made a mistake. I had misunderstood the waitress and reacted poorly. The restaurant dealt with the situation very professionally, and I now feel it's important to give them credit for handling it well. Excellent Italian food not far from historic Williamsburg. Save some money and enjoy better food just down the road. Yes, it’s in a strip mall… do not let this sway you. The food and atmosphere are excellent and you quickly forget that you aren’t in a fine family Italian restaurant. We enjoyed several dishes including the white pizza, Alfredo and the Chef’s sampler. Got pizza for dinner here today. It was okay. Lots of flop. Not great undercarriage at all. Cheese and sauce was good just very doughy. Almost underdone. No crisp at all. Not a horrible price for the size of a large pie though. I would *maybe* get it again, but only if I asked for it extra done or crispy. It was decent but not great.
