It's not hard to make a good hotdog. Making a hotdog fancy is a little more tricky. This place understood the assignment. The topping combos are creative and delicious. I'm a big fan of the bayside sausage, which I got because my favorite band is called Bayside. I didn't think I'd like it honestly. I was pleasantly surprised; it's heavenly. I really try to support small businesses. Until recently, I have been very pleased with the food, quality, and price of The Dog House. That changed today. I went inside to order 3 hot dogs and 2 orders of fries to-go. When I heard the total of $33, I was shocked. In the past I have spent about $20-25. I understand with the rising costs of food, restaurants may have to increase their prices. I paid. When I checked the receipt I was surprised to see waffle fries. I don’t know if this is new, but I liked the old fries. I also noted that the new fries were more expensive. Then I saw the “to go fee” of over $5. That is a very high fee to get my food to go. I have never heard of such a fee. I looked around while I waited over 20 minutes for my food and saw a small, handwritten sign denoting the new fee. Half of the fee goes to the server, so I am being forced to tip (which in the past, I would voluntarily tip whoever boxed up my food), but I resent being forced to tip. I am unsure of the legality of this as well, of a forced tip. Once the food was done, it sat on the counter for another five minutes while the cashier was on the phone taking an order. Another customer’s food was also done before ours, and therefore, waited longer on the counter. No apologies were given to that customer or me for the wait. When I finally got home and tasted the food, the hot dogs were good. But the fries were terrible. They were tough and difficult to chew. I will be avoiding this once favorite establishment until the to-go fee is discontinued. For $33, I could have had a steak somewhere. I thought The Dog House was a good fit for the neighborhood—but it seems that most folks will be priced out of this restaurant. They were sooooo good. My boyfriend went inside for take out and said their hospitality was amazing. The food was also 10/10. We got the bacon garlic burger, Buffalo chicken dog, the Buffalo chicken fries, and the cheesy crab fries. All of it was so delicious and filling. Would definitely recommend. After seeing the reviews I decided to check this place out today. I ordered the Maryland dog and pretzel dog and cheese fries. The food and service was excellent. I will definitely be back. Had the best craving ever. Fries, with the whole coney dog on it even the bun. Didn't get onions but it would have been just as good. Definitely getting it next time. 100% please try! We really enjoyed this place! This staff is super nice! There are so many options for a yummy twist to a hotdog. We tried the Maryland dog, the Ruben dog, and the Mac and cheese dog with a side of crab fries. Yummmm! Recommend them, for sure! They definitely know how to turn a simple hotdog into a gourmet meal! We both enjoyed our choices off the extensive menu, the Ruben Dog & Buffalo Chicken Dig. So many to choose from. Can’t wait to visit again so I can try more items off the menu! Returned on 3/10/23 and tried The Maryland Dog. So delicious!

Me and my Daughter went here for the First time this evening. Everything was Delicious. I got the Maryland Dog. Had Crab on it old bay seasoning and Shredded cheese. I got the chili cheese fries as well Delicious. She got a Mac N Cheese Dog and a Cheetos Dog with Jalapeños on it and Regular Fries. Delicious. Their fries are super crispy and perfect. This is not your traditional hot dog restaurant. They have multiple options that cover every topping from the traditional condiments to things like pulled pork and crab dip. The food is inexpensive and is always very fresh. My personal favorite is the Maryland dog. Would recommend that you give this place a try.
