The associates at this market are always very helpful and polite. The assistant Manger, Brandon is amazingly helpful . We appreciate the extra mile he always goes to help and provide info.
Nikki and colleagues in the floral department were incredibly helpful! She went out of her way to assist me with a lovely floral arrangement. I will certainly be back. Thank you!
Serious shortcomings -
A detailed letter has been sent to the corporate office in Greensboro, including multiple names of employees who are failing to uphold the very least dignified display of proper employment.
This store is NOT representative of the standard of the Fresh Market image.
These infractions have remained consistent and are worsening rapidly.
The store employees, some of which are new hires by the new store manager, are no longer maintaining a decorum of a high end market.
They discuss openly private matters, rap music, smoke in the front of the building in their smocks, laugh when taking phone calls (most recently with inquiring about Botanical Interests basil seeds) and smirk continously at the register at YOUNGER, PEER, patrons, one being my daughter. This has happened MANY times - to my complete empathy for my diligent daughter shopping and my private ANGER, rightly so, in the thought toward staff at her quietly enduring any of this.
The manager has turned off the classical music.
An acquaintance has said he offered jobs to the homeless individuals stationed outside the store.
These individuals sit directly among the Fresh Market fare to sell. One "regular" now has an aggressive dog and most of us have seen that he maintains a chair kept for himself, folded against the side of the building.
The store needs IMMEDIATE monitoring and the core guidelines reinstated, preferably a staffing change.
I do possess pictures of staff employees smoking in the front of the building in their Fresh Market smocks and the chair of the displaced individual stored at the building.

Normally love this store but my experience at the meat department left a lot to be desired.
Was buying chicken and burgers.
I asked for 1.5lbs of chicken and the guys hands me 2.75lbs and says it was a “little “ over.
Not happy when I asked him to remove some.
Then to the burgers and I saw no new gloves going on- maybe he was just so quick that I missed it.
….. but don’t think so.
Certainly will rethink my return to the meat department here.
The Fresh Market is by far my favorite local grocery store! They always have fresh, beautiful, and delicious produce to chose from.
I have been a customer for years and have to say that every time I have been at a Fresh Market the staff is always friendly and helpful.
Next best place in town for baked goods. Large selection of cakes, pies, breads, etc. Be sure to try the cranberry orange pound cake. Great store for ordering holiday meals too. Cranberry relish is a favorite.
