Great place to pull up a chair with old or new friends and let the tongue wag. Eccentric country interior. Professional friendly staff. My daughter just bought a house near here. I was looking for a bite to eat and this place showed up. We went there and they have a Saturday prime rib special which was awesome. We also had the walleye and broasted chicken all were very good. We will be back. This seems to be everybody's favorite place to go if you're in the Forest Lake area. Lots of steaks, prime rib, the usual Iceberg with one tomato - side salad. I think they've had the same menu since 1985. And just about every time, I've ordered the tenderloin tips which are tasty. Even though they have broccoli as a side dish, I do feel like there's not much for healthy food. This is definitely a meat and potatoes kind of place . We stop into the old log cabin once a month for dinner. We will also stop on occasion for cocktails and appetizers. We stopped last night with some friends. It was busy, but it was a very fun atmosphere. Our drinks were all served promptly. My wife and I had chicken wings and the nachos and they were absolutely out of this world. The staff were super friendly and everybody was in the best mood for Sunday Funday. Looking forward to getting back as soon as possible. The Log Cabin was okay. Definately did not live up to the hype. Their cheese curds were pretty amazing but everything else was just okay. Wife ordered fish and chips, for the price no home made tartar sauce. Got a bbq grilled chicken sammy and chicken tasted boiled. Was just okay.
