Misleading, fake place.
1. There is no vegan restaurant called “Vegan in the Hood”. It is part of a larger non-vegan Afro-Carribean restaurant called Yumvillage. There is no separate menu for the vegan items, and presumably uses the same kitchen too.
2. Upon reaching there I was told they “ran out of” options and nothing advertised on their online menu is available.
3. Servers are inconsiderate and ignore people standing in line.
4. No online ordering, hours advertised are also fake, no parking or restrooms.
Judging by the reviews, looks like most of them are fake too. Save your time and go elsewhere

This is NOT 100%VEGAN as they claim!! I wasted my time, gas, money and lunch on what I thought was 100%VEGAN CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. I’m so irritated right now I’ve never been more disgusted in my life. Instead of me getting some chicken shaped soy or jackfruit, I HAD AN ACTUAL PIECE OF FARM RAISED CHICKEN. This place isn’t right they lied and I want my money back. 🤬🤬

I went to there today to dine in. Owners seem like lovely people but the food appears to be packaged products. Tasted like frozen french fries from a grocery store that were fried as well as a hot dog (tofurkey hot dog) with a store bought wonder bread bun. We were told it would take 10 minutes to prepare. Please be honest about how long food will take. Would encourage owners to use more fresh ingredients and less reliance on packaged/ processed products.

I’ve been there 3 times and only ordered the Patty Melt with fries and veggies. It was very delicious and filling. The veggies was seasoned and hot. I will be going once a week.

We ordered the Southwest Burger and couldn't even tell it was vegan. I had never had a vegan burger before and was surprised by how much I liked it and its flavoring. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
