Great restaurant! Amazing selection of food and the service is great. We ordered a Flying Tomato pizza this time and it took awhile to cook, but it is well worth it. We called ahead of time but they don't take reservations but we let them know we had a party of 12 coming at 5. They accommodated us and the service was awesome. Our server was Olivia and she was great. We ordered all kinds of appetizers. Unfortunately, we did not get everything we ordered but it took 5 people to bring out all that we ordered. I ordered a deep dish pizza and it was awesome. They treated us well and we enjoyed our night. I would highly recommend visiting Wig and Pen and if you are not a fan of deep dish try the Rigatoni! Took well over an hour to get two pizzas and a sandwich. When we arrived it was about 445pm and they were maybe at 15% capacity. So not busy at all. When we left they were at 60-70% capacity and others were comparing about timeliness of food. Love the pizza but it's already slow but not usually that slow. Will think twice about going back... Great customer service. I know everyone loves their deep dish pizza, and it is great, but if you want a thin cracker-style crust, they have the best around. Here’s a pic of their special meat and veggie pizza though we ordered one side without cheese since I can’t have milk. They have thin and crispy shoestring style onion rings. My wife and I haven't eaten at the Wig and Pen Pizza Pub for awhile so decided to head to Ankeny after church and eat wings today. The wing zings are actually an appetizer but in reality are a pretty filling meal. These are hands down no contest the most consistently best wings we've found anywhere. They're meaty, the crispy of the skin is perfection, spicy but not at all over the top, just simply delicious. Our server Kourtney was very courteous and checked on us numerous times, we couldn't have been taken care of better. We've eaten at this restaurant a lot in the past and have never once been disappointed. With the superb service and quality of food we enjoyed today, the Wig and Pen Pizza Pub wins my coveted cleaned plate award again. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Went on a Saturday evening. They were extremely busy, but we were in in about 20 minutes. Our server, Emilee, was fantastic. She had a lot going on, but kept checking on us and was friendly. We ordered a pizza and she told us it would be a long wait. She said they weren’t expecting as many orders as they had. The onion rings, pizza, and Smithwick’s were all great. We’ll be back!

Went to this place for the first time on a Friday. Got seated right away and we’re told that any pizza or anything that needed an oven to cook would take over an hour. An HOUR?! The dining area wasn’t even full. I’m glad our waitress was transparent and told us up front about it, but this place needs to get another oven to keep up with orders. Our waitress was super attentive and nice so we decided to wait for a pizza since it was our first time here and we knew that’s what they’re known for. We ended up waiting over an hour and got our pizza. It was good but not sure if we’ll be back if it takes that long.

This was our first visit here & it was absolutely fantastic. My daughter ordered the Mac N' Cheese, a couple of us had the Carnivore pizza with the Flying Tomato Crust which was buttery & tasted incredible, & a few more of our party had a thin crust pepperoni pizza. We also had the garlic cheese bread & cheese balls appetizer. All of it was great!
