Absolutely wonderful place! The staff are all so friendly! The food is the best in Salem hands down and everyone who eats there is always so friendly to chat a bit!

I rarely think an establishment ever deserves 5 stars. Surely, something will always be off; maybe the food was great but the wait was long -- maybe the service was great but the menu was sticky. Safely, however, I can say Word of Mouth is one of the best brunches I've had - possibly ever.
I don't live near Salem, but took my mom here for her birthday. Once we entered it was obvious: we had found ourselves at a local favorite and we expected a wait. Despite the bustle we were fortunate to be seated at the bar almost immediately. The vibe was cheery and the staff camaraderie was invigorating. Within a minute we had waters and our drink requests in. (Don't miss out on the fresh squeezed orange juice or the floral garden mimosa!)
The plates came hot and fast and amply portioned; we tried the homemade buttermilk biscuits heaping with country gravy and a side of bacon strips the size of my forearm, and a three-egg spinach/tomato benedict with hollandaise that probably came straight from the Promised Land. If you have a sweet tooth, I suggest the cinnamon roll pancake or the crème brûlée French toast. Even the side of fresh fruit was elevated; kiwi, watermelon, pineapple, pear, mango, raspberry, blueberry, grape, apple, melon, and I still probably missed some.
More than just the memorable meal, we really appreciated seeing the tightness of the team - the bar felt more akin to a family table. WOM is a wholesome experience and satiated both the belly and the spirit. Pass it along.

Exactly as expected which was nothing short of fantastic! Have worked in Salem for past few years and heard about this place but never came through; today was first time. Great location close to downtown Salem, cozy feel, friendly servers. Ordered the Designer Omelette which was fantastic (light and fluffy eggs, bacon was thick and savory). My wife ordered chicken fried chicken; it was delicious! They have some sort of magical chicken because it is soft and melts your mouth (texture-wise this could be an issue as you’d expect it to be crunchy) but it’s delightful. Order the hot chocolate too - it’s special!
Be sure to come early and prepare to wait but it is worth it.

Just visited recently for the first time with my husband and baby, and I LOVE how cute and cozy it is in there! From the staff that seated us to the staff that took our order and brought us our food, nothing but great hospitality! I had planned on ordering a fancy hot chocolate, and the waitress suggested a boozy peppermint hot chocolate..AMAZING! Everything we ordered was fresh, hot, looked beautiful, and tasted even better. So much flavor and large portions! This place is such a treat; breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and WOM absolutely hit the spot, and it's probably one of the best places in Salem to eat. I will be returning soon to try another delicious meal!

This place was amazing! The staff was so warm and friendly, very attentive. I will say anything that comes with the biscuits is phenomenal! Their biscuits are so fluffy and delicious. The spiced chi was amazing as well! This is a must try if you are in the area!
