Right after seeing Wickenden Street, come for a meal. Try the menu of Italian cuisine at this pizzeria. You can always enjoy nicely cooked ravioli, pizza Margherita and pies at Al Forno. The vibe of this restaurant is amazing. The decor and the set up is so nice. The food was delicious. Everything we tried did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly cooked. Calms were wonderful and the sauce was perfect to soak the bread with. The octopus salad was nice and refreshing. The dessert we picked was the cookie finale and was the perfect ending to the entire dinner. 10/10 would recommend! One of my favorite restaurants of all time. It’s been 25 years since my first visit and it continues to evolve and impress. The antipasto was wonderful today. Grilled pizza is a staple, a must try. Their desserts, panna cotta and pomegranate granita were exquisite tonight. We ate at the second floor bar. The bolognese and pumpkin pizza were fantastic. Our bartender was super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We will definitely be coming back. Absolutely fantastic. We loved their grilled shrimp salad and their dirty steak (which is an off menu item recommended by the waiter). The peach cobbler was delicious and so was the grand cookie finale. Honestly, would love to try their other dishes too. The price was very reasonable. Highly recommend it, though I do suggest getting a reservation and planning ahead as it is a very busy venue.

My new FAVORITE Italian restaurant in Providence! The very thin crust grilled Pizza Margarita is incredibly delicious! LOVED it! We also ordered Caesar salad (with the grilled to order garlic croutons - YUM) and Pappardelle with Venetian Chicken meatballs. Used the delicious bread to soak up every bit of the sauce. These three dishes were plenty for three of us to share especially since we wanted to try Al Forno's much talked about delicious, made to order, desserts. We ordered the Chocolate Bread Pudding and the special, in season, Strawberry Shortcake. Desserts did not disappoint - EXCEPTIONAL! For sure try at least one! We did not have reservations, but were lucky to secure three seats at the second floor bar. Chandler, our bartender/server, was delightful. He knew exactly how each dish was prepared and shared interesting history of the restaurant and Providence with us. He is obviously a man proud of where he works and very happy in his work. Reservations are accepted up to 90 days in advance - I look forward to making my advance reservation on my next visit to Providence. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A Providence institution that’s not to be missed. It’s refined Italian-American. Do not miss the wood fired pizzas. They’re triangular, come uncut, and with steak knives. For two people: share a pizza, a salad, an entree, and dessert. They have a dedicated pastry chef - don’t miss out. The desserts are all made-to-order and need to be put in with your main order. Chocolate Bread Pudding is the classic. Also, they have several off menu items - like chicken parmigiana - be sure to ask about those. Valet Parking. Reservations required.

With its inception back in 1980 by the visionary duo, Johanne Killeen & George Germon, this place is a testament to their deep love for Italian cuisine. Yet, what sets them apart? Their stroke of genius in blending New England’s bounty with Italy’s culinary brilliance. We embarked on a flavorful journey starting with the Margarita pizza, tantalizingly drizzled with pomodoro, cheese, scallions, and that glistening olive oil. A word to the wise: flex your muscles or politely ask them to pre-cut it for you. The Grilled Lamb Chops, paired perfectly with roasted zucchini and mashed potatoes, sang a siren song with each bite, while the Rib Eye Meatballs were a taste testament to how meatballs should be made. Ah, and the desserts? We had to summon them at the beginning of our meal since they're crafted from scratch. The pear and walnut tart? A symphony of sweetness that left us applauding. Two tiny caveats for future diners: the tables are on the cozier side, and if you're doing a shared culinary tango like my wife and I did, brace for a bit of a time waltz between dishes. Delicious dinner. Appetizers were a great start and the entrees amazing. Did the halibut special. Fish was perfectly cooked and the side of handmade pasta a great accompaniment. Desserts were very good, though a tad expensive for what they were. Wine selection great, but beer is lacking. No local options and no non-alcoholic options. Highly suggest reservation. Tried Al Forno for the first time and finally crossed it off the bucket list. Started with the Calamari. Found it to be Crispy and not chewy. Comes with marinara type sauce and thought it was okay. Not bad, just not the best I've had. I went with the pepperoni pizza for my meal. Pizza comes with alot of hype and again, wasn't blown away. The crust is probably the highlight. It's razor thin, flakey, grilled and has a crunch. The pepperoni is shaved and unique. Not your typical, round pepperoni. Almost like a prosciutto. Wasn't overly impressed with the sauce and cheese coverage. I've had much better pizza in the area. Not overly filling and was able to eat the whole pie. Wife went with spaghetti and clams. A little too aldente for her. We sat at the bar and felt like the bar tender was a little too busy for us at times.
