Tasty boneless wings, pork and tacos can make a deep impression on you. As a lot of visitors remark, beer is really good. Guests don't highly appreciate ice tea at this bar. The warm atmosphere of Applebee's makes customers feel relaxed and have a good time. The terrific staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great. A number of people mark that the service is professional. You will appreciate low prices. But this place hasn't got a high rating from Google users.

My friend treated me to lunch today. We haven't been to a Applebee's in a long time. The nearest location was inside of University Mall. It's on McFarland & Veterans Memorial Pkwy. The entrance is next to Belk's. You have to go completely inside the mall next door to GNC in order to get inside. Our server was Christian. She was very nice, smiling, and efficient. She took our order right after we were seated. We went for the 2 for $25 special. There were plenty of options to choose from. You get one full-size appetizer or two side salads and two entrees. We chose the house salad instead of caesar, which had lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons, and shredded cheddar cheese. It was fresh and delicious. Our entrees came five minutes later. She ordered the White cheddar bacon & chicken skillet. It had sliced grilled chicken breast in a parmesan and white cheddar cream sauce. Topped with Applewood-smoked bacon, crispy onions. Served with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. She had no complaints with that one. I ordered the Bourbon street chicken and shrimp. Cajun seasoned chicken and blackened shrimp in a butter, garlic, and parsley sauce. Served with sautéed onions and mushrooms, with garlic mashed potatoes. It was equally delicious. The food was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The food was hot when it arrived. The meal was $30 since we didn't order anything to drink. We will definitely be coming back! When I arrived at 6:20pm, I was told a 15-20 minute wait by Jordan. The staff seemed to be moving quickly, so imagine my surprise when 20 minutes passed but my name wasn't called . At about 25 minutes, I noticed a couple who arrived after me being seated. So, I asked Brandon (who had taken over hosting about 10 minutes after I arrived) where I was on the list. They had started a NEW PAGE and were almost a third of the way down. Brandon said that I was next. Five minutes later, Brandon was cleaning a table and Jordan sat a couple who arrived after me at that table. By now, I'd noticed that my coworker, who arrived after me, was no longer sitting in the waiting area. I went to Jordan to ask when I would be seated and he walked me to booth. The waitress (Jayden) came over quickly. I asked for a French coffee (an alcoholic drink). She wasn't sure that they made it and would check. She came back, said they did not make it, but maybe she could get me a coffee with a shot. She said she was sure the drink probably was more complex than that and apologized. After she took my order and delivered my food, she checked on me ONE more time. She delivered gift cards to the Veterans, then I didn't speak to her again until I was trying to leave. She passed my table several times. As for the food, my Fiesta Lime Chicken was piping hot but the rice was mushy. This was Veterans Day dinner. I, rarely, eat at Applebee's and now I remember why. Was seated immediately(love tht). Waitress constantly checked on us.The food was hot and fresh. Enjoyed the all you can eat boneless wings. For a Sunday the vibe was definitely mellow. I was in T-Town dropping my son off at The University of Alabama. I am a super proud parent 😁. Back to business. I think we went for a late lunch. At either rate, it wasn't busy at all. The food was delicious. My son actually ate the sauteed onions beneath the chicken. We agreed to order two different meals and split them. Best thing ever because I am not a huge consumer of steak but I can eat shrimp all day. Both meals had shrimp on top. Yippee!! The female taking care of the table wasn't the most proficient. It was almost as if management briefed her not to do refills unless the customer explicitly requested. I say that because she walked by our table a few times passing by my son's empty cup. If you have ever read any of my reviews then you know that my son can go through a cup of liquid quickly. There was a point in which both cups were empty and she stood right there and asked if we needed anything. I found it rather peculiar but still I responded, "Yes...drinks." I honestly tried my darndest to refrain from all nonverbal expressions because I didn't want to appear offensive. Was I irritated, yes but I wasn't going to dwell on it. Ordered take out shrimp fettuccine with blackened shrimp. Very little sauce, food was cold, noodles were chewy. Had better microwave food. Reached out and received a prompt initial response from the manager but upon sharing pictures, writing, calling no response back but a coupon on my next order. Businesses complain about lack of customers well if customer service and quality and enjoyable products were served there would be less of an issue. Ordered a medium-rare steak/shrimp parmesan and an appetizer of mozzarella sticks. The entrée came before the appetizer and only got my appetizer after I asked about it. The meat was overcooked to the point of well done. Requested kindly just to have it remade and ended up waiting 20-30 minutes at least to get my correct order. The steak ended up being rare but at this point I did not want to create a fuss and just ate it. The place was not packed by any means and those waiting for their pick up orders waited just as long. This was my first time eating at Applebee's and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good, although the service left much to be desired. I hate to fault them too much for being understaffed, but there were only 3 people in FOH. However, they managed to do an amazing job. We got the unlimited boneless wings, which while tasty, diminished in size after the first serving. When we asked for more, they brought a plate no bigger than a softball with 4 small wings. It was certainly an interesting experience that can satisfy a craving, but I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon.

Our waiter made the evening very pleasant besides all else that was taking place around us. He really hustled making sure everyone was taken care of in his section of restaurant.
