A Time Capsule for the days when this neighborhood has a jail and people had no idea how much it could change in 100 years. That, and super delicious food. I loved that I got to read the Chef’s name in the menu. Hats off to her, Elsa Paulet.
We order fish miniatures, a table of ham, cheese and olives and Tabaré’s Provolone. Plus we had a drink with tonic, lime and mint and daiquiri. All incredible, tasty and enough for us 4.
Finally we order a “Mango Package”. A super intriguing dessert that ended up being out-of-this-world. Very original, tasty and not to sweet so I could have asked for 5 of the same. Incredible.
The show we went to listen to we loved, two great singers taking us back in time with CCR, Queen, and much more.
The staff was super polite, fast and very attentive. And the hosts very welcoming and loved sharing the place’s story with us in vivid detail.
Prices weren’t cheap but not too expensive considering the neighborhood.
We’ll be definitely coming back when there’s another show!

Great bar, food and atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and fed us a bit earlier because our baby was hungry. Don’t forget to try their delicious beer: Cream Ale from Cafe Tabare.

Excellent location. Good vibes. Excellent atmosphere. Reasonably affordable for Montevideo overpriced standards. They charge you “cubierto” which is a hidden mandatory service fee. Take this into account when giving tips.
