Been going here for over 20 years. Every time I come back to town I eat here. Found out today my buddy who was always cutting the ham and bring out pans of meat passed away. I almost cried on the spot but held it. He will be missed. 😭 If you’ve been eating here a long time, you know who I’m talking about. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Only one minor complaint they switched dinner rolls and butter for burger buns, without letting us know ahead of time. The barbecue beef was excellent as were the baked beans and potato salad. We had ordered dinner for 72 people for a nonprofit organization and we were granted special pricing. I recommend this establishment to friends and family, as well as for take out for larger groups! This place has an old school feeling to it. Super spacious and seems to always be empty. The meats are awesome. Not great, not bad, just awesome. The reason for the 4 stars are the sides. Seems like they put a lot of effort in the meats and the sides are horrible! Mac salad is overly sweet, potato salad is watery, fries are almost cold and nasty. The beans are the only good side that I would order. Good spot if you’re in the area. Not worth the drive if you’re not. Never again will I go here again ! What happened to this spot? Food was warm not fresh at all the atmosphere dead, tables wobble it’s more like a SENIOR CENTER ! Very good barbecue restaurant with quality and value that exceeds Phil's BBQ. We got the full rack of pork ribs and a side of potato salad. The ribs were meaty, lean, tasty, and fall off the bone tender. The BBQ sauce is very good and takes the ribs to the next level. The potato salad was very good, with a perfect balance of creaminess and vinegar. The staff was very friendly and extremely efficient. They are so organized, even a long line moves very quickly. Very old school look. I do appreciate the vintage decor. The service was very friendly. Food was just OK. I had the small beef dinner plate. The beef was extremely tender and juicy but lacks seasoning. My sides were fries and macaroni salad. The fries were basic, not crunchy, and could use a little season salt. The Mac salad was okay. I added hot sauce. It was better with a little tangy spice. I'll be back to try a few other dishes. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

I love barbecue and I almost consider myself a barbecue aficionado but I think I am fair when I evaluate the food . The ribs were Very tender with a nice smoke ring. However they did not have a lot of flavor like no dry rub or seasoning was applied The chicken was cooked to perfection and tender. The macaroni and cheese was lukewarm. The staff was friendly in accommodating for the most part. I would give this place a second chance if I’m in the area.
