New bookstore in Salem! Finally! It's beautifully organized with a huge selection of various books and subjects. The staff is helpful and friendly, and they clearly worked extremely hard to create such a warm and inviting place. Really impressive!
I've been visiting this location over the past few months since it opened, and location is nice and bright but small. Heavy readers will find the selection of books lacking, but if you're just looking to grab a book and not going for something in particular other than very popular releases, it's a nice store for that. It feels like they give too much space to certain genres that never have many customers in them when I am visiting, while more popular sections are very small and limited. It is new so perhaps they'll improve the ratio over time as they see what's popular in this location. Cafe is nice but the seating area is sparse, could use more decorations as it almost feels like a waiting room currently. I would recommend our local Salem and Oregon bookstores first, but this is a solid backup if you need to go later in the evening or are in the area.

Brand new store. Lay out is nice and open. The signage for each section is up high and easy to read so you can find books that interest you. Very brightly lit. The store was very busy when we went but it was still easy to move around. Coffee shop area has lots of seating to chill and read the book you just bought. Had some good specials running on new releases and after Christmas items. We expect to visit this store often.
I can’t fathom a better customer service experience. So when it opened it was busy as can be, the staff helped us find the only copy at this Barnes for a good chunk of time. Got Tolkien’s Letters From Father Christmas and which is already a hidden gem! Thank you for the help I can tell everyone on opening day was floored with book store nostalgia as Lancaster had a store years ago. Also, we finally got a book store with a full on manga section, check it out!
Last great physical book retailer. I love taking my daughters to find new authors and book series.
Very nice and new store with great collection of books, vinyls, magazines, kids books and cute notebooks. There’s a Starbucks as always on this store so you can take a coffee while enjoying a book. Great location since there’s more shops around.

Amazing books. The manga section is really big. The store is very clean and they fill the space perfectly. There is a cafe, though I have not tried any of the stuff from there. In the back they have a lot of things other than books. There’s something for everyone.

I went here with my wife. I'm used to having the staff help us find books and anything else we need. When I went last night all I got was rude staff and not a single person asking if we needed help. My son is handicap and most of the store you can not get a wheelchair through.. Very tight walkways. When we were checking out we were buying a lot of books and there was only two people checking people out. We were behind the second cashier and a third one opened up and the person waiting behind us went to it and we were next in line. They cut us and my wife said we were next and the lady said go ahead then so.we did then the lady said pay attention and the cashier just laughed at us and gave us attitude . The other cashier next to us, looked at us and laughed. I was very upset and my wife was so mad that we are not ever going back. We will be letting everyone know not to go there. There's double doors and two sets of them. It is next to impossible to get a wheelchair into this store alone. nobody helps you open them with no handicap button or door opener. Absolutely ridiculousness. I will never go back to this location. I never write negative reviews and I always try to say something positive but this was not the case here. DO NOT GO HERE!

I don’t usually leave reviews but after visiting Barnes and Noble yesterday and seeing how a young couple and their family were treated I will never go again!! I will make sure to share with all of my patients how this couple with a medically fragile child were ignored and laughed at. If these were my employees I would be ashamed and fire them immediately! Good luck keeping people coming back in. Considering that book stores are becoming obsolete Barnes and Noble should consider customer service overhaul!
Nice to have a Barnes in town! The cafe doesn't feel cozy yet though. Need some color or stuff on the walls maybe. It felt too clinical there. They also don't have a very large magazine section, almost every Barnes and Noble ever always has at least 3 racks of magazines. The magazine section here is like a half-rack. No electronic music magazines either, only guitar stuff. We aren't all just hicks here! The magazine section is embarrassingly small and disappointing. When we went they had just opened that morning. Many book shelves were missing letters on the large descriptions. That was odd. There were quite a few employees and help was pretty easy to get They have lots of toys along with books
