Lunch at Barrel & Co. mid-week and we enjoyed the experience. Quiet restaurant meant prompt service and a calm atmosphere. Lunch menu is small but covers most bases. My Wagyu Beef burger was very tasty, well put together and filled my not so small belly lol. The garlic bread was also on point, yum. Good selection of tap beers too. Not cheap eats but if you have an Accor Card membership you get 50% off. Good. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–40 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Came here with a 50% off voucher and glad we did, because we would’ve been disappointed if we’d paid full price. Ordered the tofu green soba noodles which tasted like they were doused in sweet chilli sauce. Sickly sweet, and the unseasoned air-fryer tofu didn’t make up for it. However, the venison Wellington made up for the noodles, and had a lovely crust and was well seasoned. It was cooked well done instead of medium rare but otherwise would’ve been a wonderful dish. Ordered the duck fat potatoes on the side - they didn’t have any crunch and should’ve been served with something other than tomato sauce. Quality of the potato was good though, they were dense and smooth, but really needed that crunch to make it a good side. Overall, service was great, however quality of food was lower than we expected given the price tag associated. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

We were staying at the hotel and chose to eat here for dinner. I'm very fair when it comes to my reviews and I don't say things negative lightly. The fantastic food (5 out of 5) was let down by the appalling service. The waitperson was really friendly, knew the menu and greeted us well. The issue was the timing. Not the pace of the food, but I ordered wine, which was forgotten. I also walked up to the bar to order another drink as the waitperson was obviously too busy. This may well be an under-staffing issue. The table next to us also walked to the bar to order drinks. Covid 19 has been hard on the tourism industry and maybe the hotel is running at a lower staffing level than usual. I'd definitely eat here again, and I will reiterate, the food was fantastic. I hope next time, there is more than 1 waitperson, as in my opinion that's all that is needed.

So glad we started our weekend off here! Great selection for the Buffet breakfast, the Chef was very accomodating and coffee was just as i like it! (Im VERY fussy when it comes to coffee!) The Staff overall were so attentive & friendly, I couldn't fault their Customer Service - we felt welcome the moment we walked in the door! Will definitely be back! Excellent service and outstanding kitchen staff! 💯👌🏻 We have booked table for Saturday night and everything went smoothly from beginning to the end! Food was soo delicious, all dishes had amazing flavor and even presentation of the food was great! Bread starter was amazing! T-bone steak as a sharing is a must try for two! I don’t post negative reviews often, but we were really excited to come here and left feeling disappointed. Our entree was forgotten and came out after our mains once we had mentioned it. The restaurant was not busy at all, and yet we waited a really long time for our mains with no apology. The value for money was not the best. I was expecting to be wowed a bit more with my food, considering the prices! One entree, two mains and 3 drinks was close to $200. Not somewhere we would recommend to our friends and family! Hard to mark this one. Worked out reasonable value. Booked online but could not find our booking. It wasn’t busy so that mattered little. Although there seemed to have enough floor staff it took a while to be served. Started by ordering a bottle of Savy B. It was no longer stocked. Selected another and there was only 2 glasses left available. So we decided to buy one glass and a beer. It is an attractive bar but, without bar stools and poorly stocked. We ordered polenta chips as a starter. They were fine. Could have been hotter. This was followed by salmon and green vegetables. The salmon was ok, needed seasoning. The green veggies were Kale, Broccoli & maybe Bok Choi. The waitress had said there were Brussel Sprouts and was not sure what else. We shared the NY cheesecake. This has a very unusual flavour. Maybe nutmeg or ginger. Whatever it was it was not to our palette. Food was very well presented. Wait staff we inattentive. Probably because of C19 issues. Where it became reasonable value was Accor offered us a substantial discount as members. Saying that, I am happy to pay and would prefer a better experience. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

First time In Rotorua and I must say this place is absolutely divine! First of all, we walked in hoping to get a seat but was told they were fully booked for the night ( should have known, it was a long weekend anyway) stood outside for a couple of minutes googling romantic dinner spots - the lady from restaurant earlier came running outside ushering us back in ( someone had cancelled, Yay!) The service was immaculate from the moment we sat down- we had the pleasure of being served by the most amazing staff (Sheryl)- bubbly with a wild sense of humour , quite the professional she is! Dinner was splendid - really worth every single penny! We also had the pleasure of having the executive head chef visit our table who surprised us with a beautiful platter of sweets for our anniversary! I can’t thank the staff for making that night for us a special one! In all my years I don’t think I have ever witnessed such superb excellent customer service from Barrel & Co. I 100% recommend !!!

It’s not fair to give 1 star to a restaurant because the front of the house it’s a mess , wait for a table even when you reserve it , the waitress/forgot the entree and came after the main, no steak knife for a steak, didt refill the glass of water or ask which wine I would like my meat with… but the chef cooked the eye fillet perfectly medium rare/red wine jus. Thanks to the chef and everyone inside the kitchen .
