Joe is the BEST! We just rolled into town from Chattanooga found Black Mtn Wine House and had amazing shareable plates. We sampled so much wonderful plated deliciousness! You have to have his grilled cheese on Joe’s homemade sourdough bread and spicy marinara!!!! The T&J salad so good! The wine is so so good, Joe’s recommendation was spot on and his subtle addition of an Italian bubbles dream made this a night we will never forget. (Side note: I’m driving my baby to Co Springs to live and this was a perfect evening with Joe - he’s lovely AND hilarious!) Thank you Joe! We will hopefully be back so much sooner than later. There are few nicer ways to spend an evening than sharing a bottle of wine with a friend in a cozy wine bar with delicious bites of food to nibble. What’s not to love about Black Mountain - friendly owner, great curated selection of wines and a cozy atmosphere that included a wood burning stove / fireplace. Joe is such a warm and welcoming bartender/ owner. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was delicious and elegant yet simple. A short food menu done well is something to be appreciated. This weekend my partner and I went twice. We both really enjoyed the B.L.A.T. It's just so delicious! I also got the Mac and cheese, which was so rich and creamy. The salad my partner got was fresh and had nice flavors. Inside vibe is cozy, rustic mountain; the outside vibe is city neighboorhood curbside tables with great music and gorgeous flower centerpieces. We will certainly be back. This spot was fantastic! We loved the atmosphere, the food was great, and the four glasses of wine we tried were each incredible. Highly recommend the cheese plate! We will certainly be back. This place is an easy-going, not pretentious wine bar. The staff is super knowledgeable about wines and seems genuinely existed about sharing that knowledge. The atmosphere is great. The food is thoughtful and very tasty. I recently had a grilled cheese that was made on some amazing sourdough that I still think about. Hidden gem in the central west end. Come for the wine and vibes, and stay for the food, the people, and more wine. Joe, owner and bartender, knows his stuff. “Every bottle has a story,” he’ll say as he makes you feel like you grew the grapes yourself. Bottom line: worth a visit and many returns. Black Mountain Wine House is my favorite cozy neighborhood wine bar. We stopped today after visiting the Botanical Garden- just a few minutes away. We enjoyed delightful wine and delicious cheeses. Neatly curated wine selections. Impressively well done food menu that is all the more shockingly good since one would think food would be at least a bit of a side gig at a "wine house." Poutine and goat cheese tart were both worth reordering, but the panzanella special was just perfect - bread grilled to exactly the right texture to slightly soak up a light vinaigrette, tossed with excellent quality tomatoes.
