it's cozy for a local spot. probably won't add it to my list of places to visit next time I'm back. busy enough to get a spot at the bar to eat. they have local beers on tap. the food wasn't spectacular to make the location stand out. just wasn't memorable enough to recommend to others. garlic bread was even a little burnt. Broken Axe Brew Pub has the atmosphere of the old neighborhood, corner bar/tavern. You can tell they pay homage to the blue-collar origins of Lock Haven with the decor throughout. Service is great, Meghan was very friendly and was able to make great spirits recommendations for our cocktails. Food was great! Apple Pie Creme Brulee for dessert was delicious! Was in town for a race at Hyner View. They were very busy when our party of 4 walked in. They asked if we minded sitting at the bar which was great for us. All beers on tap are from PA. Great selection of beers and also ciders. The food was amazing and a wide variety of food for different dietary needs. Even though they were very busy the staff was very kind and never once seemed like it was a problem to answer a question or talk for a quick minute. Amazing place. The Broken Axe is a MUST if you're stopping by or passing through Lock Haven. They've got an incredible selection of beer from around the region, something like 25 taps or so along with non-alcoholic options. Even better is the quality of the food. A lot of ingredients are sourced regionally and everything from burgers to appetizers were phenomenal! Stop in and try a few different beers! Many styles to choose from!
