Beautiful cafe BUT was disappointed that the breakfast/brunch menu didn’t run past 11am seeing as how it is a hotel. (I arrived at 12:30) I was specifically looking forward to ordering the eggs royal which I couldn’t as they were not on the lunch menu. I ordered the Croque Madam which was pretty good. It was too heavy on the cheese for my personal liking, but other than that quite tasty along with the side salad. I would have appreciated my coffee being refilled or even asked if I’d like another cup of coffee. I went to order dessert which was the chocolate soufflé. We were in a hurry so I asked for it to go and our server took the order only to come back about 10-15 minutes later to tell me they couldn’t make it to go. I understand you want it to be presented a certain way but if I’m asking for it to go I don’t really expect it to look pristine. At that point I should have just ordered it and asked for a box. I would have appreciated if the server was knowledgeable about what could be ordered to go and what couldn’t be and to at least offer a solution such as what I just mentioned instead of telling me the chef can’t prepare it to go. (You also loose out on money that way by not selling items) I got the other half of my food to go and later on in the car realized their wasn’t any plastic silverware in the bag. Overall, I expected better service. Just small things that can be improved in the future and maybe online saying how long the breakfast/brunch runs for in a clear easy place for the customer to find as I had looked before my arrival and couldn’t find the time.

I stayed at the Riggs Hotel for the entirety of my Washington DC trip, so it's very convenient to have my breakfast here at Cafe Riggs. This place is super elegant and since this hotel was once a national bank, it retained lots of the bank style such as the marble floors, walls and the hostness station is like a bank teller old school style. I luv the furniture here, super comfy, unique, stylish and have colours and characters. The locals come here, I noticed lots of business meetings people here and hotel guests. In particular, I really enjoyed the freshly brewed coffee, I luv my black and bold coffee and it's a MUST for me to get at least one cup of nice coffee here. I also ordered a chocolate croissant and a power breakfast here on 2 occasions. Food are high quality but very typical hotel food offerings. Price could be pricey ranging from $28-$35 USD but you are paying for a 5-star hotel dining experience + decor and restaurant space. Moreover, the breakfast does comes with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. All-in-all, I enjoyed my dining experience here at Cafe Riggs. Service were great and they were attentive. We had a weekend brunch here and it was a great experience. Make sure you have a reservation. We started with the green salad and tuna tartare , and then then we shared the lobster mac and cheese, the Riggs burger (one of the burgers I’ve had, I think the tomato jam takes it up a notch), the chocolate soufflé was also a must. 🚨French Alert! 🇫🇷 I have to tell you about the best croque madame I've ever had. And trust me, I'm French, so I know what I'm talking about. The last time I came here with my husband, he got the croque madame and it was absolutely amazing. I've been dreaming about it ever since, so we came back today and I finally got to try it for myself. Let me tell you, it was worth every dollar! Had a lovely lunch at Cafe Riggs. Perfect spot for lunch downtown. The bar looked so nice and had a separate area where a lot of people were working on their computers. The food was pretty good, the portions were huge, almost too much! Decent drinks, decent service, all around good experience. Located within the Riggs Hotel in Washington DC, Cafe Riggs was a beautiful place for drinks at the bar area or breakfast in the mornings during our stay at the hotel. We went for brunch and were fortunate enough to be served by Nia. Nia was extremely hospitable, welcoming and friendly. The bottomless champagne is the best bottomless option I’ve ever had. The food is absolutely delicious. This restaurant sets the bar for amazing brunches in DC. You must try the onion soup - it’s delicious! Beautiful place, amazing food and excellent service. Our second time dining here (2nd visit to D.C.), we liked our first dinner at Riggs so we decided to come back and it was excellent. Drinks and small plates at Cafe Riggs after starting at Silver Lyan is the way to go! We did a 7pm reservation at Silver Lyan downstairs and then an 8pm dinner reservation at Cafe Riggs. I absolutely loved the beef tartare. This was some of the best tartare that I have ever had. In addition to the tartare, we ordered the lobster mac 'n cheese, scallops, and halibut ceviche. This was more than enough food, since we had also done some small plates at Silver Lyan, and we left absolutely stuffed. Each dish hit the mark, so I know we will be going back to finish the menu. I recently had the opportunity to dine at this exquisite restaurant for brunch, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We randomly found it while walking around the city. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt like I had stepped into a different world. The ambiance was elegant and refined, with natural lighting and soft music playing in the background. The wait staff were dressed in formal attire and provided impeccable service throughout the morning; we had brunch. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations. Speaking of the menu, the food was absolutely incredible. The attention to detail was also evident in the restaurant's decor. Everything from the table settings to the artwork on the walls was carefully selected to create a truly luxurious atmosphere. If you like nice things, I highly recommend.
