To be honest when I order an espresso machine coffee in Asia I pretty expect it won’t be very good. This one was actually quite nice: in some ways it’s foolish to drink anything apart from local drip filter coffee, as it is so reliably good pretty much everywhere you go, but I like to have challenges in life. The girl here did not seem to know any English or at least wasn’t confident about it, but she knew toilet and cappuccino and really that’s enough ! The major construction right across the road appears to be finished (the outside at least) but there is another massive thing being built a little down the opposing street. Today at least all seemed quiet with no work being done. Sitting here I could hear the pet birds upstairs and I think next door. Relaxing forlorn little whistles. It’s airy and spacious here and today at least it was a nice relaxing place to sit and sip a cappuccino with a complimentary warm herbal tea as is the tradition in this country. I love how on hot days it’s tea with ice and cold days it’s warm tea. Very welcoming. Now the sound of a drop saw or a go grinder can be heard but it is far enough away that it barely intrudes aurally.
