Wow.... been to New Orleans and loved the food? Never been to New Orleans but always wanted to know what it's like? You can NOT pass this place up! Just sit back, close your eyes and take in the music while your taste buds thank you and think they're in "The Big Easy"!! They've been pleasing taste buds for over 27 years and the service was outstanding. Nice curated selection of ales and a phenomenal menu that will make you want to go back to try it all! Its my first time trying Cajun food. I got the Creole Gumbo Bowl and The Catfish Dinner (Blackened) with a side of Okra. It was all good. The best was the catfish which a friend from Louisiana purchased and vouched for and I can confirm it was good. I talked to the owner and he said thats the best USDA catfish on the market. We found this jem while browsing Google...this place literally brought me home to Southeast TX/Southwest Louisiana. The chicken and sausage gumbo tasted just like my pawpaw used to make. We had crawfish Etouffe,mildly spicy, alligator piquant which is really spicy but my husband loved it, gator bites, gumbo and crawfish cornbread. All wonderful. If you know Louisiana cooking like I do then you know even a mild Cajun dish has a bit of spice to it. They had jazz music playing with lots of pictures on the wall of their place that was on the bayou before moving. Service by the owner himself was impressive. You can tell he really loves the business. Very hands on and you don't find that these days with all the chains. The place makes you feel like family. They do have a beer and wine license. Next time we go I will try the fried okra, red beans and rice, and the boudin balls with a side of boudin sausage. (Shipped straight outta Louisiana). Me and my family went here in total we spent 90.95 for 2 appetizers, 2 cokes, 3 entrees, and a dessert. The creole gumbo 4/5, crawfish cornbread 3/5 ( it's not really a cornbread but still ok) gator bites 5/5, catfish T-red 5/5, fried shrimp nothing special), bread pudding 5/5 super sweet, soaked in sauce and can feed a whole family! Overall we enjoyed our experience and the owner was incredibly friendly! Highly recommend and will be coming back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
