While in town visiting family at Thanksgiving, we visited the Kerstmarkt at the Civic Center. It was pretty cold, and before walking up 8th Street, we wanted to warm up and grab a quick bite. That's when we stumbled on this place. It is just east of the market, so it's a prime location to pick up a breakfast pastry or drink before shopping downtown. It had just opened, so we were the only customers. The place is pristine and bright and huge with several tables on one side. My mom and I shared a pecan sticky bun thing, and it was warm and delicious. Don't be fooled by the plate in the photo - it's actually a sturdy, reusable plate made to look like a paper plate. They also provide forks and cups for water. There were so many items to choose from, I'll have to go back and try some more. Get in early, they tend to sell out fast from people stopping by after the farmers market. Lady running the shop was delightful. The cupcakes we had were amazing. Super glad we stopped in and we'll for sure be stopping by next time we're in town.
