This place was good. The decorations were somewhat bland, but the overall experience was solid. The seafood was all cooked correctly, and nothing was rubbery or raw. My friend and I visited here for dinner after an epic 16 hour road trip through six states. We were in the mood for Maryland seafood and Callahan's did not disappoint. She and I absolutely love crab so we try it where ever we can find it. We arrived just before dinner service was ending but our waiter made us feel welcomed. We asked a lot of questions about the menu and he explained everything so we could make the best choice for our tastes. We ordered the crab skins for our appetizer. So, so good. We had never had crab dip on a potato. It was a great combo and something we will try to recreate here at home. We each had a bowl of soup - the Maryland crab soup for her and the cream of crab soup for me. We split the seafood platter entree, which features shrimp, crabcake, scallops and cod. The seafood was perfectly cooked, glistening on the plate, and after taking our first bite we were hooked. The crabcake was so delicious we were kind of sad we didn't order more. The food was delicious!!! The crab dip was served in a bread bowl and a very generous serving size. It was one of the best we've ever had! My husband had the French dip sandwich and french onion soup. I had the half flatbread (seafood)/salad special . The seafood was flavorful and the salad was fresh. Everything tasted great!!! First time eating at this local restaurant. Decided to try it based upon a FB promo for Prime Rib Fridays. Met an older friend for lunch and found it charming. Server/Host was friendly, capable and very helpful. Nicely decorated for Christmas and at 1pm was not overwhelmingly busy. Men is diverse and well priced and both of our orders were delicious! Christmas Eve at Callahan's with family. First time for all of us. $20-$40 per person. The person who ordered the beef filet said it was excellent. I ordered the wrong dish, so it wasn't their fault I was disappointed in my meal. I didn't realize I ordered the wrong dish until I returned home. The staff and service were excellent, and the owner was clearly watching the dining room for proper supervision. The atmosphere had a rustic feel, which was clearly their intention.
