My first trip to Puerto Rico and Mayaguez. Was recommended to try mofongo and picked here. Had it with chicken and was great. Took longer than I had hoped, but was busy for lunch at the mall. First time ever having this and was great. Was full for rest of day. I loved the food. It's packed with that criollo flavor from Puerto Rico. It was a good amount of food for a reasonable price. The place is not huge so it can get pretty crowded. Sorry to say, we were a party of 25 coming from a funeral expecting delicious food but instead the food was so dry. The mofongo dry and lacked flavor. The chicken was dry and hard. Oh my God! I finally decided to try Casa Mofongo, and I wasn’t disappointed. Good pricing and portions. Super delicious Mofongo with Mahi Mahi fish with garlic sauce and green salad. Drink included. Nice ambiance, friendly employees. Basically you can say there’s no waiting for your order compared to other fast food places. This is now my favorite place to eat at Mayagüez Mall. Try it if you already haven’t, you won’t regret it.
