Best dinner in San Juan, Marlen the chef made an incredible fish dinner with sweet potatoes rice and salsa for only 200. Very warm hospitality! Best kept secret. I have been traveling for 2 weeks and her fish hit the spot. Thank you!! Will be back!
The other reviewer here is right, Cafe Oro is SJDS’s best kept secret! My partner and I were in the mood for Indian food and we got vegetarian coconut curry and butter chicken. It was so tasty and perfect that we cleaned our plates! The food came with jasmine rice and a thick (what seemed like) flour tortilla. IT WAS ALL SO GOOD! We had been feeling a little off in our stomachs and this food healed us; endless compliments to the chef. The best thing about this place is its sustainability, but that does mean that they don’t offer take out containers, but the portions are perfect for a hungry person to feel well-fed. The pineapple banana batido was delicious as well! This will definitely be the first spot we eat the next time we are in San Juan del Sur!
Waffles and fruit were absolutely delicious, really fresh fruit and sweet hot waffles. Unfortunately the coffee was a real let down, we asked for an iced latte which they accepted without a flinch. The coffee they brought was hot and when we asked the server why they said they didn't do iced? The latte itself wasn't a latte of any kind, it was a very watery coffee with some milk thrown in, really not good. I hate leaving bad reviews but bad coffee is a basic error from a cafe Service Dine in Meal type Brunch
I had a great breakfast at this cafe one morning while in San Juan del Sur. I loved the atmosphere and the open, breezy vibe. The food was good and the staff were great. It's attached to the Casa Oro Eco Hostel. I didn't stay there this trip but it seemed like it would be a good place to consider on future trips.
Open early enough for breakfast but the staff seemed confused by our order. Good food.. huge portions. Fair prices.

I ate at their restaurant because I saw they had Indian options. I ordered a Dal and I was extremely disappointed, the only taste you could feel was ginger, I couldn't even finish my plate.
