After seeing Admiral Nimitz State Historic Site, come here for a meal. Serving good bacon, steak tacos and lamb is the hallmark of this bar. That's a good idea to order tasty cheesecakes and perfectly cooked tiramisu. Come to Chase's Place Cocktails for delicious bourbon, martinis or beer. Here you may have great coffee. Invite your soulmate to this place with a romantic atmosphere. A lot of people highlight that employees are terrific at this spot. Prices are found affordable here. I started going to Chase's Place back when they first opened. I think I was there the first week in fact. Have been back several times since then. This review is for my most recent visit again this past weekend, 03-03-2024 for Sunday brunch. What a great experience. We had a reservation for 11:00 AM and we got seated a few minutes early. We got the chicken and waffles and the shrimp with grits. Both were just fantastic. Coffee was dark and strong. Service was perfect. Love the decor, especially the crystal decanters used as lighting fixtures above the bar. This place is a real gem for Fredericksburg. Great mix of contemporary and upscale theme, offset with vintage photos of local areas such as LBJ and his wife walking thru their ranch. 2nd visit and this time brought friends. Can't wait to go back again with more folks. Food was great and they're not shy with their portion sizes but we were there primarily for Travis's cocktails and he proved that our previous visit was no fluke. Consistently excellent drinks mixed to perfection and his barrel project was a delight. Sadly there was no room at the bar to accommodate our group but the table server was excellent and when we unwittingly mentioned "the magic word" Chase himself seemed to appear out of nowhere like Willy Wonka with a special surprise treat for the table. This place deserves a loyal following of regular locals and is a must for visitors to Fredericksburg. Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The salmon is amazing. Everything everyone ordered they completely enjoyed. I would literally drive from MO to TX for the fries with truffle oil and parm. Make a reservation for the best experience. The gnocchi Bolognese was like little pillows with cheese inside and off the hook, and the chicken Marsala was probably the best I have ever had! It was phenomenal! Great cocktails too! Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Lucky find for our trip to Fredericksburg. Staff, atmosphere food were all amazing. Bar was exceptional! Definitely recommend this place but make a reservation, it’s very small and fills up fast. Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Exceptional service. Very cozy spot with extremely nice vibes. My wife made the reservation and loved the food. It was valentines float and we got a 5 course meal. The experience my fiancé and I had was so strange that we had to laugh about it. I ordered the chicken penne ala vodka, and the chicken was raw/uncooked. I told the server about it and she took the plate away and came back 5 minutes later with a new one, without asking if I wanted something else, etc. The second plate had such a bad smell, I was actually convinced someone around me was farting, until I put my nose close to plate. Also, with the second dish, the chicken was diced into such small bit, as if the cook didn’t know how to cook chicken fully through.

It was okay. We had the fried artichokes, steak bites, southwest egg rolls and buffalo wings. There were no standouts although the fried artichokes were probably the best thing we had. The steak bites, which we ordered medium, came out well done and did not have much flavor. The egg rolls had decent flavor but could have been fried a bit more—the outside was very soggy; and serving them with bottled ranch dressing is not good form. Finally, the wings were nice size, but had almost no sauce and were undercooked—we had to send them back because you can’t eat undercooked chicken. The waitress acknowledged they were not cooked properly and immediately removed them from the tab, along with a drink which was not necessary, but appreciated. We each had a couple Woodford old fashioneds which were very good. Bottom line if you’re looking for bar food in a lively atmosphere you could do worse. But the restaurant itself was nothing special.
