The chef's creations are mind blowing. The modern design of the restaurant is beautiful, and the service was attentive and informative (when the chef recommends NO soy sauce to be used, you know it'll hit your taste buds in a new way). The combination of flavors, high quality ingredients and artful execution created a sushi experience I'll remember and talk about for a long time. I believe we ordered around a dozen items and every one of them were spectacular. We even tried the mackerel (this is a more oily, fishy fish) and it was awesome! The restaurant itself looks nice. However, the service was lacking, definitely needs to be improved. The sushi was very disappointing. Only one roll was good. The other ones were just meh and overpriced. There are way better sushi places out there, just not this one. It’s a shame because this one was close to me. Not recommended. We didn't have a reservation (Thursday night), but the hostess was very accommodating and sat us in the bar area at a nice table. The appetizers we ordered came out quickly and were delicious. Chef Soon is a sushi genius. The creations he comes up with are never, EVER, subpar. They are always thoughtfully and strategically prepared with flavors that will keep you coming back for more. Citrus vs umami vs both together, omg it’s perfection always. Tonight we tried an app special which had raw scallop, clementine orange, & avocado slices, topped with a mango salsa & micro greens and roe. We’ve never had raw scallop and this literally melted in our mouth. It was so fresh, buttery, scallop perfection. There are vegetable maki rolls, we tried the shiitake which was so simple yet perfect. There are also specialty rolls galore. Specialy roll of choice for us this time was the ‘dragon breath’. It was still warm, flavors just melt together in a display of pure foodie genius. Make a reservation and you can sit directly in front of Chef Soon and his magical sushi team, who give a beautiful performance of sushi roll, maki roll creation, including the absolute most precision cuts to fish directly imported from Japan and other areas trusted by Chef. It’s unfortunately been a few years since we’ve been here but the quality has not changed one bit. Still the amazing, fresh flavors we remember when Chef was sharing a building with the Asian mart off of Maple, to when he first moved here at 7 bridges. Whatever our economy goes through, Chef Soon provides consistency and flavor packed new choices for his return clients to try and enjoy. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, especially if you’re scared to try sushi. You will never have to worry about unsafe sanitation and/or fish that isn’t fresh. It is an amazing hidden little Gem tucked away near Seven Bridges movie theater. The food is so tasty and beautiful. When they say DON'T EAT IT WITH SOY SUACE. Don't eat it with soy sauce. The flavors that they combine is truly a work of art. From Big Ey Tuna sautéed in butter and soy to s special Fatty Tuna roll set at market price. Some of the best choices here. Can you believe that have this excellent vegan sushi???!!!??? So good! Their seaweed salad is phenomenal as well. I also recommend the plum wine! We love this place but only go 1-2 times a year (it’s expensive!). You don’t need a reservation but they’re always so busy so I recommend you make one! They have indoor and an enclosed patio. In the winter the patio is well insulated and they have heaters-very pleasant! They also have take out too. We have called ahead and picked up before (Valentine’s Day).
