I visited the Chokdee Cafe on the recommendation by a friend of mine. It is located just of the Khon Kaen ring road heading in the general direction of Tesco Lotus ("super"). There were lots of people walking around the areas near the cafe and you could tell right away that this was a photo op cafe. Not a good start. It was quite busy inside and there were lots of seating space, most of which was occupied. My order took about 20 minutes to arrive and that was just coffee and cake. They do hot food as well as cake but I decided against it because of the crowds. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cake and coffee were fine but I don't think I will go back. This is a personal choice, others may love this place. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person ฿400–500

A must visit coffee shop in Kong Kaen. All staff are nice. Even some of them cannot speak English. They still try their best to greet you. And the lady in the counter speaks really good English. She is so good and she knows that I cannot read their Thai menu. Hence, she helped me to translate and recommend their signature. I like their Tom Yun Spaghetti. It’s really nice. Spicy and creamy taste. Yummy. I do appreciate the lady, who stands at the counter today. She is perfect! I arrived a while before sunset. It’s an ideal time to go because you can enjoy your meal outdoor and its not too hot. I also tried their Lemon Tart and the Balanced Flower Tea. Both of them are good. And the flower tea is also good for taking photos. :-)

Good quality cakes compared with the price. Very enjoyable if not crowded and good pics to take too. Check with the shop for the paddy fields before visiting would be beneficial.

Need to pay 30% surcharge if bill less than thb1000!!!! We were 5 of us dining in for lunch. We were asked to pay first before eating. This is first time we experience such service at a restaurant. A group of three senior citizens were seated next to our table. Since they order came to less than 1000 bhat they were asked to pay a surcharge of 30%. We couldn't believe this nonsense. The group left without ordering anything and swore never to come back to this place. We will also never come here and will not recommend this place to anyone either. Bad service!!! Nice place, good atmosphere. Unfortunately the black coffee turned out to be Lungo, in other words too bitter. Should have been Americano (=espresso with plain hot water).
