Purchased Crumb Fish - needs attention to better preparation. Purchased Chips - needs attention to stop chips looking like the ends of the potatoes. Purchased Potato Fritters needs attention, the potatoes are either to thick or to thin and the Batter is poor quality and looks messy & thick. Purchased Pineapple Fritter was unappealing to eat, batter is again poor quality and messy & thick. Had icing sugar which was gluggy & lumpy, a better idea would be a light sprinkle of Sugar. Clyde Street Takeaways is one of those 'keeper' places that you find and decide you'll never get your 'Friday night fish n chips' from anywhere else ever again. The food is good and fresh. The menu is great and the value for money is brilliant. We don't go to any other takeaways in town now. Over the years they've had to up their prices but a $9.50 pack of x2 crabsticks x2 med fish n chips feed us 2 adults & 1 child. Just the right amount. We stopped in for a quick dinner on the way to Auckland - what a find! Fantastic chips with good salt and very crunchy. Bacon and egg burger with mayo was yum and the hot dog was awesome with fresh batter. I'd be stoked if this was my local chippie

Lovely staff. They're the best fish n chip place in Tokoroa. Very clean n tidy, yummy food cooked in front of you. Value for money with alot of choices
