Nice restaurant with a cozy vibe. Went for Valentine’s Day and got a reservation a week prior with no problem. Food was good but came out warm vs fresh/hot. Not sure if that was because it was a busy night but was expecting more for the pre we paid. Would give them another shot in the future on a less busy night. We went to Coalition on a recent Saturday, and our experience was… weird. The night was very cold, so the restaurant was subdued and about one third full when we arrived for our 8:00p reservation. The food was fine and service was ok. What made things weird, though, was this: a bit before 8:45, and before we finished our meal, the lights suddenly went up and the staff started cleaning tables and sweeping the space as though they were closing the restaurant. (The Saturday close time listed on Google and Coalition’s site is 10p.) Granted, no one asked us to leave. But this isn’t what we expect when we pay $200 for a two person dinner, and it turned a fun night into a bad experience. This was an ok experience. Service was the bright spot. The food was pretty average, I expected more but despite the server's recommendation it was fairly bland. I have no idea why there’s mediocre reviews of this place because I absolutely love it! Been here several times and the food and service is always top notch. I was in tonight with my parents and we got the burger, salad, green beans, and the salmon. Everything was delicious. I love their cocktails too! Perfect date spot imo.
