The bread is amazing, but the customer service is pretty subpar, especially for what you’re paying. I am sensitive to the fact that it’s not the best time for the industry with staffing shortages, however, for the price of the product and shipping, comms could be better. Not receiving any email 3-4 weeks after you’ve placed an order is a little ridiculous. Again, love the bread, but having to hassle customer service for an update on your order over the course of many orders, has caused me to order less and less.
I really enjoy the GF sourdough and the ingredients are unique and more nutritious than your typical rice, potato, and corn. They are a bit pricey but I appreciate the hard work and sourcing a small business has to account for so I buy bread and treats a few times a year but I always enjoy them!
These are the best gluten-free rolls you'll ever get. Plus, Coco is awesome. I don't always agree with her (do you agree with all of your friends always?) but she puts so much love and care into her work. I trust her 100%.
Coco not only has the best gluten-free bread and goodies but offers exceptional customer service as well. Your order ships out quickly and arrives ready to devour. The quality is above stellar and I highly recommend her products to everyone, not just those who are searching for gluten-free and healthy food. Now go get yourself some Coco Bakes goodness!!
This bread is awesome, however, their business acumen and good customer services needs A LOT, A LOT of help! To NOT tell your customers who pick up their bread regularly for over a year at the Santa Monica location that you have moved to Canoga Park, is completely UNACCEPTABLE. How hard can it be to send a mass email to those who pick up their orders that Coco's is moving to a new location. I arrived at the Santa Monica location, and there was no one there. Not even a sign on the door. And the email reponse was - sorry for the confusion. There's no confusion on my part. Coco's failed to notify their customers of a VERY IMPORTANT change to the business. And no bread is worth paying a $10.00 shipping fee within the LA area. Again, not savvy business practices. I'm waiting for the explanation as to why the customers were not notified of a change in the address. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND SHOCKED. Again, NO BREAD is worth this kind of headache.
I received my explanation from Coco Bakes LA -
"As a very small business we take each customers issues seriously. Sending a mass email is not challenging however sending one to all of our subscribers seems to be a bit more challenging than we anticipated and were waiting to hear back from the app developer to see how in fact we send that email."
We all know what goes into moving to a new home or apartment, so I can only imagine the planning that goes into moving a business, so for COCO Bakes to still be waiting to hear back from their app developer on how to send a "moving notice to customers," is unbelievable. Shouldn't COCO Bakes have worked the problem out before they moved. A classic case of putting the cart before the horse.
It appears they are trying to get rid of their pick up customers, and solely be an shipment company only. Which is fine, but COCO Bakes should respect loyal customers.
I found other bread options that are just as good if not better than COCOs, so for you customers who are tired of the run around, move on...because COCOs doesn't care about you.
I think the first reaction when trying Coco’s bread is “I cannot believe this is gluten free” Pretty much all gluten free brands I encountered are dry and flavorless. Coco is a wizard! Her breads and cakes are soft, delicious and healthy for you! Fermented gluten free sourdough that is out of this world. I have also tried the poppy seed loaf, pumpkin loaves, buns, and marshmallows. The purest of ingredients too.
A M A Z I N G!!!!! Seriously. The owner, Coco is the sweetest and is seriously a WIZ when it comes to baking! I ALWAYS have to keep a stash of her gluten free sourdough in the freezer (the olive loaf is my FAVORITE). While I don’t live in CA where her shop is (I actually live across the country) her bread is always shipped FRESH and gets here so quickly. I could not recommend her or her products enough! I hope one day to be able to get my hands on one of her beautiful cakes. Thank you for what you do Coco!
Coco Bakes makes the BEST gluten free products I have ever had. Her blondies are so addicting I have to avoid purchasing because I will eat them all in one sitting. If you have a birthday coming up... Highly recommend the triple berry cake, there is nothing like it anywhere else! 10/10 female owned and operated company.
Coco Bakes is by far the best gluten free bakery in the United States! Now that may seem like a blindingly naive statement to make, but hear me out.......
The team truly cares for their clients, even non-local ones like me that have a monthly order that gets shipped across the country!
(The fact that this small business takes the time to do that so everyone can enjoy their products = god send!)
They are responsive, truly go above and beyond, and when I tell you their baked goods are out of this world, I mean OUT OF THIS WORLD. My husband doesn't eat gluten free - their sourdough bread is his favorite bread he has ever had! Not only delicious -- nourishing breads, buns, cakes, cookies, blondies, and more!
If you haven't given them a try, I highly recommend you do! They truly bake love into every loaf! #iloafcocobakes
The woman that owns Coco Bakes has a heart of gold and I have thoroughly enjoyed every single product I have purchased! Gluten free sourdough that doesn’t taste like cardboard, thank you Jesus. I recommend Coco Bakes to anyone that will listen!
