Our review was split in this because four of our food was great and we scored a solid 4-5 , the roasted chicken was tender and just fell off its bones once you scratch it, the fries were not soggy, the mix veges were also cooked to tender, the cheese in the cordon bleu oozed out of the chicken but everyone was in sort of an agreement that the Hainesse chicken was plain, the sauce was lacking flavours. A good hainesse chicken would be the Little Penang Kafe in KLCC, now that’s a good piece of protein with all the expected flavours. We did come back again today in the afternoon as I saw that they serve illy’s as a package and illys is a great blend and wasn’t disappointed. Restaurant in a high traffic huge mall. A signature Malaysian cafe existed since 1921. A place for local and western food. Service, atmosphere and food is good. Acceptable taste and portion. Been frequenting Coliseum Cafe since 1990s (original location in Jalan TAR) for its nostalgic feel and good food. This outlet tries to retain the colonial charm and classic atmosphere. The steaks were good but not as good as it used to be. Similarly for other dishes we tried. Nevertheless, it is still better than many such hainanese western restaurants. If you've not been to Coliseum Cafe before, good to experience the rustic charm of days gone by at least once. Had our lunch at the restaurant around 2 pm after peak hour. Which is great. Ordered sizzling chicken chop and maryland. The wait is short for maryland, a bit longer for sizzling chicken chop. The size of the maryland chicken chop was humongus with a whole banana fritter. Tasted great with the sauce. The sizzling came a bit later in a piping hot sizzling plate. Need to be a bit careful with the heat. The sizzles mini splashes are everywhere . The taste with a mushroom sauce was amazing!! Also salad tasted good. The service is fast and efficient. Could not recall any stand outs compared to the one at MidValley, as his place seems larger, more inviting n more presentable. Ruining the ambience however was the loud lady behind the counter who kept barking orders to the servers. Really a turn off for me who wanted to enjoy an early lunch. Customers were still few so our orders came swiftly. My chicken chop was not dry so it was tasty but the sauce somewat lacked something. My wife's burger was tasty n she liked the fries. The avocado drinks were delicious, as too was the onion soup. The servers were attentive n as a whole, an enjoyable dining experience in the' Longest Operating Western Colonial-Themed Restaurant' in Malaysia's GBOR. Tried this place for the first time. Very surprised with the place and price. Went 3 of us and took 2 meats, 2 carbs, and 1 desert. Price is good considering the place. Came here for dinner and our order was taken by Mr. Shahid. Look for him as he's the best in taking order and recommending the menu as I wanted a diff cooking method, certain level of perfection and change my sides too. My food came exactly as what I wanted.
