Let’s start with the not so great, service was a bit slow for the restaurant not being even half full. We went for lunch on the way to the beach. It was quite a nice walk through the mangroves on a wooden bridge through the water. After about a two minute walk the restaurant greets you and the bay right beyond it. The chicken was excellent. Also, the fish was tasty. There was really good flavors. This is what is meant by “off the beaten path”. Such a great atmosphere, a unique setting. “Having dined at Crab Shark, I was impressed by the fantastic service and enjoyable ambiance. The option for boat rides at Ksh500 per person added an adventurous touch to the experience. However, despite the restaurant being a great place to eat, I highly advise booking in advance as all seats were fully reserved during my visit. While the overall experience was delightful, I must admit the disappointment of the crab samosas. Unfortunately, they were overly oily, detracting from an otherwise pleasant dining experience. Beautiful place between mangroves, in front of the sea. The food is very cheap and it is delicious. I recommend the octopus and the squid, they were the best we tried in watamu. In the same place you can take a boat ride for 500kes watching the sunset. The only negative thing I would say is that the food took a long time, but if you have time, it's the perfect place.

Disappointing food. At 2,000 Kes for a main course, it was one of the most expensive restaurants I visited in Watamu and it was the worst food I had: rice was papery, prawns were bland with no seasoning, too many lettuce leaves on the plate just for decoration. It was not worth the price at all. At additional 1000 Kes, they can take you on a boat ride around the restaurant in the creek and you can see crabs, oysters and jumping sardines. A very beautiful clean and serene place to unwind. The palm trees that perfectly blend in the very blue sky offer a spectacular view, the view of the mangroves when seated is as perfect. They offer variety of services including canoe trip. A conservation system is in place to safeguard the ecosystem which is commendable. They offer a unique experience with a floating restaurant in the middle of the waters. The best thing is that the place is not far from an island called waka waka island another perfect place to be. Had the ginger crab tonight. Was in the pitch dark but it was a wonderful dinner. Crab was fresh, sweet and juicy, and ginger sauce was on point. Very very tasty with the coconut rice and a Tusker. Jescar, my server, was lovely and helped crack the shells.
