Cuba Libre will see me again! The food was amazing! And the ambiance of the restaurant was unique and beautiful. Perfect for a night out with friends or a date. I got the red snapper dish and it was flavorful, nice portion size, and tasted amazing. The crab guac was so really good. I was very happy with the food. Service could have been a little better. Our waiter didn’t really check on us much and took some time to get to our table (but it was a Friday night, so I think they were just busy). Would come back! The atmosphere here was great nothing less than a full vibe. From the music to the people, if you are looking for Cuban themed music and ambience this is your place. I had the rum flight and it was very strong and good. The real downfall of this place, is the service. My waiter was very impatient and didn’t do a good job of explaining anything on the menu. She was so in a rush and pretty rude, and that totally killed the whole experience of this place for me. On that note I really would not come back here just for that reason alone personally. Love this place. Food was awesome. Portions are generous.Atmosphere was great, and place is very clean, family place. In my opinion needs to improve Mojitos, I want to drink a cocktail not a juice. Tried 3 diferent flavors and was just juice. If you will pay a high price at list could have a little bit more of rum. That's the only thing to improve. I'm a Miami native; I grew up on Cuban food. I cannot get over the absurdity of paying $25 for a Cuban sandwich, even with beans, salad, and a few pieces of baked yucca and thin-cut plantain. But the service was nice and the decor is great. It's lively and filled with young professionals gathered around the bar. If you can, try going to Cubanos in Silver Spring or trek over to Cuba de Ayer for better bang and food. The best thing this place has is the decor and good amounts of space. The Cubano: The sandwich came with seasoned and stewed black beans (the best part of the meal). The departure from tradition in the sandwich, having a thinner cut of the bread, using Genoa salami, removing the pickle (unless I missed it), concerned me. But if it had enhanced the flavor, why not? It didn't. The salami was acceptable, but the cuts of pork and ham were way too thin. A Cuban sandwich tends to pack on the pork! The lost tang from removing the pickle and maybe going too light on the mustard, lessened the typical flavor contrasts: Swiss, creamy and almost sweet, with juicy pork, and the light tart pickle and mustard. That balance was missing. The texture of two kinds of meat and melted cheese, however, was still present and tasty. I'd compare it to an outstanding deli sandwich, like those from Capital Grounds Cafe on Farragut North or similar places—one you can buy for $15 or less... The Mojito had a really good level of mint, as well, but a little sugar could have made it much better. I also had croquetas and those were adequate. Great atmosphere inside! You feel like your dining outdoors in Cuba!. The Food was delicious, The Borracho was so tender and flavorful, And the Empanadas were a wonderful appetizer!. If you want to have dinner and have fun, you can come here. I recommend that you come around 9 or 10 pm because at 11 the restaurant closes, they remove the tables and it becomes a dance hall. Absolutely loved my dining experience at Cuba Libre in Washington DC! The vibrant atmosphere combined with the delicious Cuban cuisine made for an unforgettable night. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff who provided impeccable service throughout our meal. The menu offered a mouthwatering selection of authentic dishes, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The mojitos were absolutely refreshing and perfectly crafted. We enjoyed our private group dining experience! The hospitality, atmosphere, food, and drinks were exceptional! We tried a variety of appetizers, drinks and entrees which were all delicious! Very nice place that I wish I'd have discovered sooner during our weekend trip to Washington . As a Cuban born, I cherish every experience that transports me back to my homeland. And this place definitely has that magic through its food, music, drinks and decoration. On Fridays and Saturdays you can dance too!!!! What else can you ask ?! Not cuban at all. The food is way overpriced for what it is. The place is very pretty, and the ambiance is super nice, but what a shame with the food. Very small portion of non-cuban food and extremely expensive . Look at the pictures I posted so you'll see how beautiful the place is. My recommendation to the owner is to improve the food..
