While in town stopped for some BBQ and was not disappointed. Had the pork plate with potato salad and coleslaw. There is no seating inside but they have seating set up outside under cover. The breeze was nice making it very comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food had a great flavor and everything was delicious. Glad that I can and recommend this location to anyone.

I ordered the pork plate with fries and potato salad as my sides.
The positives: Smoked pork had a good flavor and wasn’t dry. The BBQ sauce is yummy!
The negatives: The fries were nothing special, which is okay, if you have phenomenal fry seasoning… unfortunately, fries weren’t seasoned at all. The potato salad looked ok, but smelled weird and tasted off - so only had a bite of that.
My suggestions are to up your fry game and to adjust your potato salad recipe. Great job on the smoked pork and sauce!

Potato Salad
I love trying to places. This is a Barbecue Smokehouse. My first thought when coming to this place was that this doesn't smell like a Smokehouse. Usually in smoke houses you can smell the aroma as soon as you enter the parking lot, this did not have that fell.
The positive: You can get a lot of food for a reasonable price.
I ordered a bunch of food, pulled pork, smoked chicken, hot dogs, bbq sauce, baked beans, salad, and more.
When I first saw the smoked chicken I admittedly asked if that was mold on the chicken. It looked so bad, and to be cut into little square pieces was so weird. I have never seen that from a Smokehouse or BBQ place. Usually when you get smoked chicken it's pieces of the chicken not diced pieces that look almost pre-cut. Taste wise the smoked chicken tasted a little better than it looked. So that was a plus even though I was somewhat scared to eat it.
The pulled pork was bland. I'm used to BBQ and Smokehouse places having really good salads, this one looks like they gave it no care or character. Looks like straight out of a walmart bag. Baked beans were ok. The BBQ sauce itself which can make or break a meal was just average. It tasted like it was ketchup based with not enough flavor. It wasn't bad but it also did nothing to help the otherwise bland meats that they presented. It's disappointing when you get BBQ and you are reaching for the store bought BBQ sauce instead of the sauce they make in house.
The kids liked the hot dogs for the most part. The mac and cheese was not good.
Overall this was a disappointing experience. I can't see myself coming back even though there were a few other things on the menu that I wanted to try.
They were also out of a lot of meats that were listed on the menu including ribs and smoked wings.
If I had to sum this place up. It's a smokehouse with no smoke.

I keep trying to give this place a chance but their food isn't consistently good. Ordered the stuffed bbq pork potato & what I got was a little potato with a bite sized amount of pork & no bbq sauce. I ate it dry & still feel hungry because the portion & the meat was so small. I don't eat large portions so it just shows this was hardly worth the price of a whole entree. The sweet tea also tasted strongly of tap water. I think this is probably gonna be the last time I waste my money here.

We stopped here because we couldn’t reach the other bbq place across the tracks and discovered an amazing hidden gem! This place has incredible bbq and service and the owner is kind hearted and charitable. This is our new favorite spot in calera!

Large BBQ Sandwich
DC's Smokehouse is one of those local holes that really needs more attention. I can say with certainty that you should phone your order in! This is fresh-made food, like, while you wait. They'd hugely benefit from table-service, and maybe that's coming, but for now... call it in, and enjoy as soon as you can!
The Burger here is the best local burger you can get, period. I love a good hamburger/cheeseburger, and these are the best I've had in a while. Their Hot Hamburger, smothered in gravy, mushrooms, and onions? Also the best Hot Hamburger I've had in years. Better than all the others out there right now; it hearkens back to weekend restaurant hits as a kid.
Their BBQ is smoky and delicious, their potato salad delicious and their banana pudding... just don't sleep on that one.

On our first visit we tried the potato with chicken and the hot hamburger. The chicken has a very good smoky flavor but there was not a lot of it on the potato. The hot hamburger was not made to order (fully topped instead of only gravy and onions) and that may have thrown off the flavor a little. We've had better of both from restaurants further away so this is a good location for a quick local pickup. We will come back and try some of the other options later on.
Firstly, this is a take out only establishment, no dine in options. Secondly, if you're getting food around lunch, you better call in the order and plan for a bit of a wait. This is not a bad thing as this is a small mom and pop style place with homestyle cooking. I just had the bacon cheese burger, fries and a drink and it was the best damn burger I've had in a long time! I highly recommend this little place!

Hot Hamburger
I ordered green tomatoes, baked beans, potatoes salad, rib sandwich, and pulled pork sandwich. The green tomatoes are so good (fried & topped with a smokey rub). Potatoes salad has noseasoning, baked beans does not have meat or onions or bell peppes in it, but they have a good brown sugar & bbq taste. The ribs still had the membrane attached, so I did not eat anything else. Will return for green tomatoes only. Turned off by the meat. Friendly customer service and fast drive through.
