I like Dickey's BBQ. It has always been very good. First time at this location. We don't have Dickey's near home. The last time we visited Dickey's (near Austin Texas) was about 4 years ago. Prices have almost doubled. It was about $45 for two plates and two drinks. I would give five stars but the price is too much. The food is still very good and the atmosphere was interesting with various pictures and other related country bbq decor. There were three workers behind the counter. We stood at the "order here" sign for a couple of minutes before anyone said anything to us. This was ok as we were still perusing the menu. If we had been ready or if others were in line behind us it would be different. Overall not a horrible experience. The help need to be schooled on how to cut brisket. They cut the brisket with the grain, allowing it to dry out over the next couple hours and when I got my brisket, it was tougher than boot leather. I drove back 10 miles from my house to return it and they got me fresh brisket, cut across the grain and it was nice and juicy far from being the best brisket I have ever had but it was good. just a suggestion ask for a sample of the brisket to make sure it’s not dried out. Looked forward to visiting as we hadn’t been here in a while. Was SUPER disappointed to find the ice cream was no longer available, the soda fountain had been reduced to a basic one, the bread served with the meal was now a greasy slice of thick toast rather than a roll and the fries were basic “bits” that were over cooked and over salted. Drinks are now extra, the tables are rickety and the music sucked and was too loud to carry a conversation at your own table. Couple all of this with the fact that the meals are about $5-9 MORE than they used to be. Kids meals are now $9.25!! Way too expensive and absolutely nothing about my visit made it stand out in a good way. The only thing I have to say negative about this place is. Location!!! It's almost hidden from the main street. I've been to Sam's club plenty of times. And I never seen this place. Service is 5-star at this location! The brisket was pretty yummy, as you can see from the photos it’s a generous portion. Not a fan of hot (temperature) BBQ sauce but they have three types sitting by the drink station for self service. Meal type Breakfast

Okay, we ate here because frankly, I was too lazy to drive to our favorite in Goodyear...so thought we'd give it a try. It was before the dinner "rush" (if there is one) and it took probably five minutes to even have anyone notice us. I said to the guy behind us in line...."I can see you. Can you see us? Because clearly the people behind the counter can't see any of us.". Lol One gal finally waited on us and we ordered a rack of ribs (29.00). I asked for two drinks (they only have one size) and the total was $41 something I said, aren't the ribs 29.00? She said yes, but the drinks are 4.33 each!! OMG what a markup on the soda (like we know it's always a markup but really?). And yes, the cups are refillable for 99¢ each visit, if you remember to bring them, but still!! The flavor was decent, but absolutely no customer service and for what you get, not worth the price. Back story...I ordered door dash about 2 weeks ago. It was my first experience eating brisket...it wàs delicious!!! However, the portion wouldn't fill my 3 year old grandson belly....So I decided to stop through, told a young lady by the name of Kelly my experience..,Well needless to say, Kelly and Brandy apologized, and made it right😊 My dine in experience today was 5 stars. The professional demeanor and yet making you feel at home was superb! First time I tried this place.I ordered old school plate. This this what it comes with. Brisket & Kielbasa,2 sides & a roll.the cost $18.I know BBQ Pit restaurants that serve brisket and ribs are not cheap.I get it,& I don’t mind paying more for good food, but can you justify paying $18 for the small portion of food in this picture? I can’t.BTW It doesn’t come with a drink.I shared this photo so you can judge for your self. I hope the owner can see my review.. If they are more generous with food portion there would be more customer traffic. Otherwise like I stated for $18 I can’t justify paying for small portion. You can get a lot more for your money with $18 somewhere else. Now to the owners credit they send out coupon buy one old-school plate get one free. But not everyone will get it and even if they do then technically it’s $9 each entrée. Again you have to go by assumption that you are walking into the door and you don’t have a coupon it’s $18.

Check your orders before you leave! I ordered a brisket sandwich and the guy behind the counter. Asked me if I could chop it up for me. I told him no, but that's what I got anyway, and it ended up being all the black pieces of brisket scraps that I got on my sandwich.
