We have been back here several times since this last review. I just called them today 05/15/23, just to make sure they're open for business still, because of a post I read on Facebook. The Gentleman who answered the phone said someone is looking to buy the restaurant, but the deal hasn't gone through yet. I am going to be SO sad if Dixies closes. I love this family & I love their food! My friend Ed & I stop here to eat when we go to Florence. It is one of my most favorite places & has been for years!
Today is probably the 6th time we have been back here, since my last review. It's an oft stopped at place for us, whenever we are on our way towards the coast. I don't know what we'll do if he ever retires or sells the place. I had the small breakfast today, 2 eggs, hashbrowns & sourdough toast. My dining partner had the Denver Omelette meal again. We adore this place.
Best Coconut French Toast, you can find! Today though, I opted for the corn beef, hash & eggs. My dining partner had the denver omelette & he was super impressed. Today was his first time here. I have been going here for years. It's my hidden secret spot. I love the owners, so much. The food is super affordable, the quantity is hefty & they make a mean, hand dipped, chocolate malt.

Dixie's Cafe is truly a special place along highway 126. The food is excellent, and the prices are fair. The service is welcoming, and the quiet inside the cafe is great if you're looking for a peaceful escape.

Love the owners. Heard they were looking to sell and retire in the near future. I have to admit, I’m glad they didn’t end up selling it to the buyer from the Eugene food truck. After seeing the way he was talking to the owners, intimidating them, and refusing to cooperate with things they were asking for in the sale… I would not have come back if they had sold it.

The place was dead. The food was wrong and was gross. Asked them to get us fresh soda 3 different times before we gave up. They kept poring it out of a 2 litter bottle. The ice tea was old and tasted like mold. I ordered a chef salad and what I got was a plate of lettuce carrots a side of cheese and chopped up tomatoes and a tiny thing of ranch. And they tried to charge me $8 for that. Husband got a bacon cheese berger and it had 0 taste. We had to go back over our ticket because they was trying to charge us for. Things we didn't get. The total they was trying to charge was almost $50 but the real amount was only $35. We will not be going back there again this year 😬🤢🤮

The owners are great people! Nice area for gambling and really good pieces of pie to go or eat there.

Edit: Just drove by. Cars and trucks out front with a newly OPEN sign. Didn't eat here but upgrading from the 1 star for the permanently closed posting I previously published.
Fantastic food, especially the breakfast. The restaurant is family owned and you can tell there's a lot of nostalgia and locality in the way the business is run. I always eat here when I pass through Euegen.

I'm reluctant to write a review here. Based on other's reviews, this place is well loved. And they're aren't a lot of diners in the area. Also, I'm sure this place suffered during the pandemic - and it appears to be a small, family owned business - and I respect that.
But my regular followers probably wouldn't appreciate this place.
