Loved everything about this place! The decor is awesome and atmosphere is so lively. The servers were very friendly. Their menu options seem to be endless which made me a bit confused; I wanted to try a bit of everything, but I controlled myself to two things. I had the hummus with tomato, avocado on GF toast - delicious. It was the first time I ever had hummus with avocado & tomato and it’s my new favorite. My husband had bacon, egg & cheese on a bun with home fries- his home fries were spicy, which were not spicy fans but he did like his BEC. When I’m back to pick up my son from school, I’ll have to stop by again and try something else. They also had desserts showing inside the glass casing that looked divine. They had a chocolate flourless cake that was calling my name 🤤- I’ll see you next time I’m on campus! Stopped in here on a Sunday mid morning. It wasn’t too crowded. Had their bottomless coffees, very reasonably priced by the way, and a meal. Parking can be a little hairy, but that’s because this is downtown UConn. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The sandwiches were tasty and the decor was just right for a college campus. A diverse menu to please the very finicky college crowd was spread wide across the walls over the service counter. Canned beer was available. The three stars for service is because they don't really serve you. They bring your stuff to your table when it's ready. Always on the look out for interesting food offerings, I perused a menu I had seen before and was not finding anything I REALLY wanted! Until I saw the word, "NEW." And there it was. Tofu Bahn Mi in tiny letters. The description? "Grilled tofu, sriracha mayo, pickled cucumber, carrots, onion, jalapenos, on a toasted ciabatta. Well, that sounds OKAY. But could you put a slice or two of the lox (salmon) on there, too? Of course they can! Because you can get what you want at Dog Lane Cafe! Now don't "poo poo" the tofu. It is thick, creamy and nicely seasoned with all the other stuff surrounding it. The sriracha adds another flavor element. The jalapenos are understated and don't overpower the sandwich. The salmon on top was excellent. And the combination of it all is a winner. Hit the spot and exceeded my expectations. Service is consistently friendly and friendly. Can't say that too often.
