I’ve given this place way too many chances. I had a horrible experience in December when I was served raw chicken, was given a gift card and the owner was very apologetic. Decided to come back to get dinner the other night, had my sleeping 5 year old in tow, and the way I was treated by Terri was not ok. She had an attitude the second I walked up to the counter. I was not even waited on by her for quite some time as she had messed up someone’s payment and the owner was fixing it. When I was being “helped”, I had asked her about serving sizes & she said “I don’t know” with an attitude. Then, when I went to use my gift card, you would have thought I inconvenienced her so badly. “Ugh you’re using a gift card?!”. I couldn’t WAIT to get out of there. Never again.

I chose Dottie’s Gourmet Kitchen to cater a reception to honor my father, and I am so glad I did. Once I gave Marilyn, the owner, a general idea of the type of the event we wanted, she came up with great suggestions for the menu and set up so it was really easy even though I live out of town. She worked directly with the venue on a lot of the details, and the results were beautiful and everyone raved about the food. Her staff couldn’t have been more thoughtful, keeping the tables looking nice and assisting guests as needed. We had some guests we knew were very health conscious vegans, and she readily incorporated several dishes that they could eat and everyone else enjoyed as well. Chose Dottie’s Gourmet kitchen and you won’t regret it.

I was sent to help her from another owner in Newtown Square. I purchased a shepherds pie 🥧 rice pudding, bread pudding and a fruity bottle of balsamic vinegar . I was discussing my red wine braised short rib with one of her cooks. Kerri pulled the recipe out to show me , from there I told Marilyn yes it’s a easy recipe. After I left, I went to work for the guy who sent me to work for her . Got home heated up the Shepherds pie 🥧 I sent her a picture of the pie & thanked her, told her the pie was phenomenal. She sent me a nasty message saying “ the pie your eating is at your workplace & she didn’t appreciate me making her pie and that I stole her recipe & I couldn’t work with her .” I explained the picture was her pie 🥧 and how can she possibly think , I had time to steal her recipe, come home and remake the pie 🥧 I was devastated for one I’m black and to be accused of stealing her recipe & asking for her recipes is not in my character. I’m a Christian woman sent to help her out . She then told me her cook Kerri left her recipe out on the counter, it was there after I left ! I told her that Kerri did no such thing , so that’s another lie on her staff ! Kerri didn’t give me any recipes or did I ask for any. I’m saddened that this woman tried to humiliate & sabotage my character thinking I stole her recipe, re created it and I was dumb enough to send her a picture. The picture sent was me eating her pie 🥧 She never apologized. I’m a great Personal Chef just starting out & I strive to be a great boss . You can’t go around accusing people of stealing especially black people . I’m sorry I brought that damn shepherd pie or patronized her business.. Slandering & defamation of character could open up issues you don’t want so it’s best to treat people with kindness & respect as I gave you . Let alone the young lady in the kitchen Kerri ! Recipes are sacred ! I value women bosses but to throw stones at me a black woman , you tried to tear me down & lie on me .. I know I’m destined for greater. God will work everything out for me & judging by the owner’s character, I was saved from working here. I wish nothing but the best . Hope you work on spirituality. When your spirit is good you’ll know the difference & know God wouldn’t fail you . Fearing someone stole your recipes or asked for recipes , just out to get you is the work of the devil 👿 Sad world we live in with no regards on how you treat people.
